I concur that this would be a good thing, but for the opposite reason.

Back when everyone did have to kill and dress their own meat, people were a lot less prissy.

I would feel more comfortable in a world where more people were down to earth and really in touch with what makes the world go 'round.

I have to disagree with you there Yo-Yo. There are many alternatives to protein and other nutrients found in meat. So how can not eating meat be unhealthy?

Not eating meat is unnatural. Yes, you can jump through dietary hoops to replace the protein, iron, zinc, and b-12 that you cannot normally get from fruits and vegetables. However, that merely serves to highlight the fact that vegetarianism is bizarrely unnatural. It is not what your body was designed to do.

Who said "unnatural" things are wrong? Killing is natural, as the caveman did to protect his property, but you don't see me stabbing my neighbour because he stepped in my garden. And you do not have to jump through "hoops" at all. Nuts, pulses, cereals, dairy products and fish are rich in protein, fibre and many other nutrients given by meat. That's hardly "bizarre". In fact, our body was originally heavily dependent on fruit and vegetation mainly over meat, so don't preach about what our bodies were designed to do, 'cause what do you think happened when winter came and meat was scarce?

Also Will, I just saw the website you used as reference :D

Not only that.. but meats are what contain natural proteins that your body needs for health and growth. Here's a good read:

That's a good point - but I wouldn't and haven't become a vegetarian because I think it's a healthier living style. I'm not even sure if I am going to become one yet lol It's a tough decision!

If you're going to eat fish and dairy you're not a vegetarian. fish is meat. One of my favorites actually. I eat very little red meat.. but enjoy tons and tons of fish, and chicken :)

I'm sure there is a loose branch of vegetarian(ism?) allowing fish. It is hypocritical I know, but somehow some vegetarians must think fish are less worthy than other animals :/

I'll give you three guesses :D

You said *** saying a CD had "no place in our society." ***

I still find no source that shows where either Bush or Quayle said "a CD had no place in our society".

I guess I read your rant to mean the "CD" specifically. Apparently I misunderstood you.

Now I see this is just a Tupack thing... So put in the proper context this had nothing to do with Bush senior. It had to do with the fact that the VP at the time expressed an opinion that a violence condoning record had no place in a peaceful society.

Tupack sucked. That's hardly a removal of speech. Let me get this straight so I understand you better. In a free society it is ok for a no-talent gansta thug to express himself freely, but it is not ok for the VP to express himself freely? Looks to me like you are the one in favor of "Some Speech"... So long as it is not an elected Republican, free speech is ok in your book.

I gotcha. Thank God there won't be anymore Tupack records.

People are considered omnivores, so I guess you could technically say vegetarianism is unnatural. But then so is the average american diet. Many Americans are too overweight and unhealthy by eating so much fast food and processed foods. I think all that junk builds up in your system and causes disease. I eat alot of fresh fruits and vegetables. I like beans, rice and cous cous. I have my own juicer and make all kinds of juice. I make stir fry vegetables all the time. For my fast food, I'll make apple butter and peanut butter sandwich's on good bread to go. For a treat I'll have popcorn or cashews, I really don't eat much candy. I have to be a vegetarian. It is not just a choice for health, I just don't look at animals as being food for me.
