Probably the website owner is smart enough not to use any "hacking/cracking" related term on his website.

This astalavista thing really disturbs me. When small fry publishers are disabled with the snap of a finger, nothing is done to these big sites that bring in a lot of traffic and clicks.

I don't know if anyone of you have noticed, but it doesn't seem as if Astalavista are using Adsense anymore. I don't know if it's due to a ban or not, but they are now using Yahoo.

It might be that Google did enfore their ToS.

That is really good news, especially for the AdWords users here.

Indeed. And it shows that Google aren't solely in it for the money. They do enforce their ToS... even if it does take some time.

I think AND I guess. Well, says a lot about how sure anybody can be about the "different rules" allegation against Google.

Let's face it, they ARE straight.

As for the premium users, they are involved in some beta tests of new ideas sometimes, and that looks like unfair to others... but is it?

The Google Ads, if at all they were on the Astalavista site, are not there anymore.

All I can see is "DisplayAds Media" ads.

I see that rapidshare has no google ads now they have pop up. I think its a big risk betting on google to serve you ads if you have warez. They will take you down when to many people tell them to or advertiser.

i've seen plenty of warez sites that have google ads on them along with many sites that violate the TOS and still have ads...there's no point in reporting them because they are trying to make money off their site that they spent time on...if its against the terms google should be able to find out themselves and ban them...personally i'm almost certain google bends the rules because some warez sites get hundreds of thousands of unique hits a day which means more revenue for google along with the publisher...and define warez? Although sites with google ads may be warez sites, they do not host the files usually. Most the warez is hosted on rapidshare, so this might be the part that bends the rules, because the warez sites could be looked at as indexing sites. Either way it's still illegal and I don't know how they get around displaying google ads.

Altavista was using adsense before, but they dont do that anymore. Most probably they got banned from adsense already. But for warez sites, adsense doesn't have any ban option. Adsense only shutdown displaying ad for warez sites, if and if only warez sites are reported by some advertisors or others.

they check the warez contents most probably at the end of the month after taking all the reports. and if any successful report found, they stop showing ads for warez sites.

Adsense only bans accounts when they find that account is doing some click frauding or showing ads on a porn network. Thats the only two things, which adsense doesnt tolerate at all. But for warez, they have some sacrifice i think :) as they dont ban the accounts at the first time, just stop displaying ads for that domain.

    Regards

Well Astalavista probably gets more traffic than altavista ;)

Its a very huge underground search engine.. not only very old but very popular too..

Its a warez search engine, it doesnt host warez, it only provide a link to them...

So basically its not all black....;)
