How many backlinks need for PR

    PR increase depends on two factors. First is proper on page optimization of website and second is the quality of back links. If your website is well optimized and you build quality back links then you require lesser number of links.

    Simple rule of thumb is - the higher the PR of website/webpage linking to you the quicker and higher you will get ranked. See chart below for roughly the number of backlink power of a change in PR

    Back link quantity is not important, back link quality is important. Work to get quality back links, which will improve your PR. And don't forgot, only back links are not the factor, which Google consider.

    actually page rank has a very difficult algorithm.I don't believe there is any definite answer for this...i have seen sites which have links below 10 still these have earned high PR...its actually the quality of backlinks that point to your site.
