Hello DP members Hope you can help me with this, I found a keyword from my niche that many brazilian people search every month, it is necessary to buy this keyword.com.br to get customer from brazilian market or will be the same with keyword.com and just content with language of portuguese. Which is better? or any suggestion BR
i think for targetting the brazilian market is better solution... and .com is a globle domain not only for portugal... so try the brazilian option thats what i suggest...
I'll go with the .com if its available.. you can still target your market depends on your content and promotions..
Try .com domain. When you will do SEO for your site then you can promote your site to potugese sites. You can also promote your site in the Local search engine business.
Obviously its better to have local domain if you're really looking for local searches. Although global .com name is good when you want your site to see globally.
Always go for .com. When was the last time you saw anything other than a .com domain in top search listings... .coms are easier to remember. If you use another suffix, your visitors might get confused and use the .com sufix instead of your country's suffix. You can always by both though, that would solve the problem...
TheFall is correct. However you can achieve the same results if you do a lot of backlinking an the rest of your on page SEO is done.
Unfortunately it is not available with .com the keyword that I am talking about. Do you think with 60.500 search of users per month is good to start a business?
Well I have Hosting on the US, and the domain .br I don't think that the hosting will help me to rank my site yeah?
When was the last time I saw something other than a .com in the top search listings?? Ermmm 10 seconds ago. Go to Google.com and search for "bom dia" which means good morning in Brazilian-Portuguese. You should find redebomdia.com.br around the 3rd or 4th position. There are many examples. .com's might be easier to remember but he is targeting content in a specific language where the people have a completely different mentality to that of US/UK users. They will be perfectly fine with remembering com.br malcon, go with the br version. If it is keyword specific in brazilian-portuguese then it will rank better than the .com in the local search which is where you want to be for your target market. The hosting shouldn't make that much difference to your rankings so long as it's reliable.
If you are targeting just the brazilian market than getting a brazilian domain name is better, since this will let your market know that this is a local website and you will seem more approachable. Getting keyword in the domain name gives you a good seo boost - however this is not necessary - you can still rank highly for domains that have nothing to do with the keyword, its a bit harder, but still very very doable.
If you want to be specific for brazil, then think no other than .br, It will be really helpful. One more thing, the country where you have taken your hosting, does also matter. For brazil, you must buy domain from a brazilian company.
