My point exactly. Without dinegrating the value of education, getting every last US citizen through college will not do much to solve employment problems, despite what the president claims. Reminds of when he was busy selling Obama care as the solution to fix our economic problems. Its just more BS.
Honestly, I don't think the guy has the first clue as to what America is about. His state of the union may not have been a "crisis of confidence" speech, but his ideas and ideology suck. As young and inexperienced as the guy is, I would give up a kidney to have someone like Chris Christie at the helm right now. Its not rocket science. We just need a leader with a few principals who sticks to them.

That we can agree. Not everyone is a doctor. Someone should do the linens for them. Obama is a pimp same as his predecessor. Your government needs someone not from the traditional's otherwise its gonna be the same sh*t.

There is a lot of truth in that, though the American version of that story used to read, "Linen guy/girl with high school education creates linen service, hires 20 people, and makes something approaching what the doctor makes". Obama seems to be under the impression that, unless you are the doctor, you should be on government assistance or work for the government.

Once again the Republicans place their own interests ahead of the Country.

They claim during elections to represent sound fiscal restraint but instead raise the national debt with their initial legislative enactment.

These are the same rules passed by the previous Administration and Republican Congress that led to the 07-09 Recession, the deception resurrected again that undoubtedly will lead to the same consequences as its predecessor if left unchallenged by the need for real reform.

Breeze, you do realize that the deficits all time high was not more than $500 billion (post 9/11) and was around $159 billion by the time Democrats took over in 2008 and began driving up to where it is now, in the trillion plus !!!

Looks like Obama can now officially borrow Jerry Brown's nickname.

The US National Dent was $8 trillion when Nancy Pelosi became speaker of the House in 2007. In 4 years the national debt has increased to $14.3
trillion and is expected to hit $16 trillion by the end of this year. It's just a matter of time before the US debt crisis goes out of control.

This kind of logic was sold to people during the housing crisis. It didn't make sense that housing prices were increasing 25%+ per year.

You need to understand that the hedge funds don't care about the US economy. They are looking for trading profits (short term gain)

The DJIA isn't a refelection of the US Economy in any case. 50% of corporate profits for the top US companies are made overseas.

The 1970s style Decline in action

Camden, NJ- Deep layoffs of city workers go into effect on Tuesday -- cutting up to 383 jobs, or one-fourth of the city's employees.

The layoffs could slash half the police force and one-third of the fire department for this city just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. Practically every other job in the city is likely to be affected.

Camden, rampant with open drug-dealing, prostitution and related crimes, was the nation's second-most-dangerous city based on 2009 data, according to CQ Press, which compiles such rankings. Camden ranked first the previous two years. The FBI said that in 2009, the city had 2,380 violent crimes per 100,000 residents -- more than five times the national average.

Why supermarket stocks are getting squeeze

Rising food prices mean grocery store chains must absorb extra costs on items like meat, seafood, and produce, or they try to pass them along to customers.

Forty million Americans now rely on foods stamps, up 50 percent from four years ago, and the average price of gas now costs 12 percent more than it did at this time last year.

It was the highest reading since May 2004 and the 18th straight month the sector has grown.

bogart, the Administration took office only 24 months past and not only has curtailed the Republican economic catastrophic Recession but after only 6 months of renewal is responsible for 18 months of uninterrupted manufacturing growth to the highest readings since May of 2004.

And bogart, do not look in the mirror the DJIA clocked over 12000, first since 2 1/2 years after the Bush / Republican disasters.....all hale the Liberals.

Also bogart, Nancey had better things to legislate for Generational purposes as healthcare - the R's made the $$$ mess on a needless war Iraqi, lets now see them pay for it on their own time.

Do you purposefully ignore facts ? The Health Care circus was finally declared illegal. But I will get
off-topic to explain more on that...

Eleven percent of American homes are empty. Homelessness is in the stratosphere. How do you put those two
together ? Its because people do not have jobs. Now that gas is going up, and
.... heck with it. Everyday people can see what is going on.

On topic Blue Star, healthcare is 1/6th the economy.

Unconstitutional was the delusionally incorrect response of the learned Jurist - oh by the way it was just pandering for the Jackals, there was no order to withhold implementation.

Both sides were aware that, regardless of the outcome of this decision, the fight was going to the supreme court. It was the very reason Judge Vinson did not issue a stay.

Nevertheless, it is hard to imagine a more prejudicial verdict being issued. The words are scathing, and rightly so.

In case the Supreme Court does not see this the same way Judge Vinson does, the citizens of South Dakota have taken a first and appropriate liberty with the new found rights of the government.

IMO, some sort of health care reform for the USA should be done. However, I think it should be done the way it was done in Taiwan - health care reform should be constructed by doctors, NOT politicians.

Great News! Unemployment drops to 9.0%!!! Obama's economic genius has saved us!

    So in summary:

Economy added a net of 36,000 new jobs while 600,000 people are no longer considered unemployed.
