I added google related box to my directory to my directory on the listings pages.

    Directories
    Hosting
    Pets
    Gambling
    Insurance

The nice about this is that you can see what googles thinks the page content is about, also nice is the news box.
What you think about this, is useful for visitors and submitters?

Just basically I had those things in my directory back in April of this year when I first launched it.

Since then, google has stripped it of its PR2 that it had and was actually ripping my directory apart with a vengeance, by deindexing all of my pages. At one point i only had 4 indexed pages.

So much for innovative thinking and trying to diversify yourself without the use of Gaygle's little toys eh? Just appears to me that Gaygle will just frown upon you when you don't use their tools and provide the same exact stuff, months before they come out with it.

    oh well...

I think its personal google just hates you :) strange you having such hard time with your directories with some nice backlinks.
20 other sites on the same ip why don’t you get a private ip and register the domain for 10 years. Maybe will help.

Rob exactly I think you are spot on I had an old site that I was 'checking this checking that on' to see what worked and I got the G 'hair dryer' treatment, they blow away my indexed links

You know, I work extremely hard, and tirelessy and always with 100% of my best effort. Not only for my clientel, but for my own directories, as well. I brainstorm for new and innovative ways to help better things, not just for myself, but for everyone i am around. (you guys are like a second family now).

I also do everything with 100% honesty, and not tricks like a lot of people do use. It's just really upsetting when google does this to the straight webmaster who isn't trying to corrupt the SERPs, but rather try to help them, and provide not only a quality of resourceful links, but a solid directory for the end users as well.

I have also sent out a few emails to see what the heck is going on with directorydump too.

maybe gaygle just despises the fact that others can create a better foundation for a directory and they 'must punish us'. who knows...

I can say this, that every since I added the google search to my directory over 2 months ago, I have never had a problem with getting new pages indexed very quickly as well as staying indexed. Before I had the search the site had only 48 pages indexed and for some reason just would not gain more even though I had some good links pointed at it.

Plus searching your own site with their search seems to work pretty good.

well, ok, to stay on topic...

It's a good thing but nothing original for originalities sake.
It will add dimension to your site though and offer something for the end user's pov.
