This is What I dropped in as Query in RBI site (I mean the official one)

    Hi

This was not exactly a query, or a suggestion or anything. It was kind of mixed things and I did at one shot without giving it a second thought. May be if we can put up similar queries to the government, it might get us a positive response. I don think alternative payments is a good option, as none works better than PayPal barring the February - March Annual Common Disasters :( .

I will do it once more, once i get a response from there. That would be more structured and will have all my questions to the finance department.

I believe freelancing has taken a considerable amount of unemployment away from the country, when the Government was unsuccessful in doing it, during the recession. Most of the unemployed people were able to do business during that time using freelancing and PayPal as the source for receiving money.

Some are saying that freelancers don have bills of over 500. Trust me, there are more freelancers having this problem than not. Again, paying writers or receiving payment gets simplified with just an email of paypal. Also with credit card, you will have to pay foreign transaction charges, if you link it to paypal for making payment.

Lets see how it goes. If possible come up with questions, which we should ask our government.

You can also post questions at http://www.rbi.org.in/scripts/helpdesk.aspx.

May be with our good reasons, they can review their policy. I think some of the thinkers our there in the Government think too much. We need to show them the way through our perspective.

    Regards

    Army

People, U live in India & how come you dont know abt working of these institutions.

RBI will not respond to any of your or my questions NOR will it hold talks with anyone just becoz u say so.

A PrimeMinister maintains his silence for the numerous scams that has taken place under his leadership & u expect a govt organization lke RBI to give you answers?

U will never get any answer from anyone !! Dont waste your time!

    Hi sosmonthu,

This is really a bad thinking, Due to this thinking We are always giving them a freedom to F**k Us, As much as they want.
Even though they dont reply, We should think positively.
But if bulk number of Users contact them, May be we can see some positive rays.
    TRY TRY but dont CRY.
We all know how our government is, How much Corruption our country has, Scams.Cases like this In india, out of 100% i guess 1% cases get solved. But what if we falls in 1% ;) . So, We all can mail them.
Sorry if i said something wrong.

abhi2554 Has started a nice Thread. I guess we all should try to mail them.

    I remember my day,
when i contacted Director of mumbai university, as they have given ATKT to all the students, without taking the practical Exams. Due to which many Student got failed as they got 2 atkt . Only 1 ATKT is allowed. Our professor where also not able to help us.

We a group of 2 3 student to Wrote a letter with a signature of all students dare to take an appointment and met the director. Though HE was really Rude, But finally He had listened us we got relieved from that ATKT.

So, I guess we should all try to contact them by any mean.

See, it doesnt make a difference if they reply or not. Remember, we are already prepared for the worst. I was thinking of sending a mail with all the questions to the big Peers of the Government. I just wanted to see, if there was an answer or not. For me, it is important. Not for PayPal, but this will impact the world of freelancing. PayPal is our problem, not International. And all will still prefer it for payment.

Am ready to make a move, even if it comes at a huge cost. It can only get worse and the next thing we know, they will stop PayPal on the whole or as a matter of fact any money passing organization. They cannot develop employment, at least they should not stop the scope of us doing the same.

Hope, we all will make the same move. And rather than being practical, we will have an optimistic view about the scene. Who knows, we may succeed. Not by March, but may be by the end of next quarter :).

I have sent them an e-mail. I'd request each one of you to do the same.
Instead of losing hopes, there is no harm in sending 1 email.

    Thanks

    Don't Send Email.

Someone File a RTI complain against RBI and ask them in detail about the matters. RBI isn't a private company so filing an RTI might get some info about whats the matter behind the scene.

Atleast we would know where does RBI and Paypal stand in this controversy.

O Brother, A Complaint Ha ha......

Its not a bad idea, but a complaint will only be answered, when we will too old to continue in freelancing. However, like an email, a complaint is a good option too :).

Why I thought of email as today customer support is wat works everywhere. I just wanted to check, how they are at our government :)...

However, who knows with the complain, we may get clarity. May be PayPal on the guise of RBI, playing some kind of games with everyone... Or Maybe Government are getting too intelligent :D ...

I appreciate your efforts but you are doing good job in wrong direction! We need to force PayPal to follow FEMA Act 1999, The act only ask documentation of payment if exceeds limits of $500 and also need to send details to RBI. PayPal just need to send monthly overview, which they already show us if we are Premier account holds! Why not they send same details to RBI!

RBI is never gonna reply to any of our mails, but if they may be tempted to look into it if they keep getting so many mails like this. I will do my part.

Go to RTI website and lodge your complaint, under 'Ministry of Finance > Department of Economic Affairs > Reserve Bank of India'.

Under the article 19(1) of the RTI act, it's obligatory by the Government of India to give response to it's citizens of India.

Congratulations to the OP! It is time that we started mailing the media too, so that they know about it.
