Hi, Just wonderind what would be the total no of SEO Professionals around the Globe. This does not include people who just provide linkbuilding but a Complete SEO consultant .
It's growing as an industry. I just don't know how long the industry will last. To me it's more like a "fad" than something that will stick around.
I wont agree with your comment. Just Count the no of websites that are present on www. Corporates and companies do not have time to optimize their sites and thus appoint a professional to do this task. I have just been in this field for a couple of months now. Starting with link building process now i have started with Complete Projects. Even As of today I was approched by 4-5 Companies In Mumbai, India for full time SEO Job. Though the pay they are willing to give is very low as compared to the Offshore projects I recieve. I think these scene will change once these companies realise that it requires a professional to get their sites on the top.
Of any amount, 90% will be crap. They just read the same fora like you and chaotically apply what they learned (or do not read anything and apply the same principles as in 2001)
I Did Not create this thread for any personal eligations. Let me tell You the complete projects I am Refering to are my own projects and not any services I am offering. Only after the success of this projects i will be offering my services to others. About 90% Crap thing.... I have checked around various freelancers forums and the projects people place... They Ask for complete seo for Low $xx amount and expect high quality work from the Providers. And Later complain about low quality job done. From What I Understand about it,SEO Is a Process and not a short Term Job That is to be done and left away. Thats the reason I asked How many Complete SEO Professionals do think exists Around On the net. Regards,
No offense: dont ever make any open statements blindly...you can you say that it 90% with out any supporting statement...
That is the difference between successful people and the rest. They apply what they learn. The probably have 1000 failures before a good venture like youtube for e.g. It happens in every industry/segment.
See, you have a major misunderstanding with the web. It evolves. SEO is only an industry because the current way the web works. (Like replacing tubes for old televisions) Ones the internet changes, and upgrades, you won't need SEO anymore. I guarantee you that. Call me out in it in 10 years even, I bet it'll be a shot down industry compared today. (go ahead write Daniel Fischer down, I'll be around trust me on that one to ) I really give it a life of 10 years or less. I'd lean towards less. It's called a bubble usually, it happened in the 90's with the web. We're in another one now and SEO is a major part of it. Once it bursts, *byebye SEO*. And honestly, nothing is hard about SEO, it's the easiest thing to learn. Just a couple principles and BAM you have a full grasp of the industry. The only thing hard about SEO is the ammount of time it takes to really be used to it's full potential (making relationships, having quality links, content, etc) There's really not that much you can do for SEO that requires skill or a professional (a professional in SEO is someone who simply understands principles. A successful SEO is someone who puts the time in to use them.) Though confirming that you said companies don't have the time, time won't matter soon. Things evolve, and in the business world I KNOW that companies don't want to deal with SEO. It's overhead, so it will be worked around in finding a solution. Once the web in nature realizes this, it will evolve and SEO will be more natural than anything. The way pages are created, the way search engines work, it will phase out SEO - it's rather counterproductive to the web. It's an industry created out of a flaw.
