Youtube dropped it's PR to 5?

I've just noticed youtube have a little pr5! What's up with that! It was the 10th biggest site on alexa!

That can happen sometimes But I am quite baffled as to why its ranking is 5..

 

Google bought it, give it a couple days and it will be PR10

 

iwebtool and the others show that its a pr 8 where did you get your results from?

 

Can google change the PR any site they want intentionally?

 

PR ratings are according to how well the site ranks in Google. Google has aquired the domain and the website so I expect a PR of 8 soon.

 

I thought it was always a PR 5

 

I show PR8... I think you need to find a new way to check PR.

 

Not true. PR is based on the PR of the pages backlinks.

Some DC's show 5, some show 8..... (see here)

MS has been the same way, bouncing between 9 and 10...

If I had to guess I would say a PR update is underway!

 

The update happened a few weeks ago. There are just a few DC's showing the old data.

 

According to my toolbar, it says Page Rank 8. But soon Google will put it to 10 since they will own it.

That will not happen. Google doesn't care about PR. They own it...

It will be pr 10 soon. And google is going to push more and more traffic to this sites. It will get soon get popular in the countries it is not now .

If its 5 or 8 doesnt matter. They will get the same amount of visitors anyway. PR doesnt matter, visitors do.

 

I agree that they will have PR 9 or 10 soon, but not until
the next PR update. Would Google backdoor the PR of
its new acquisition?

 

But its strange, after the merger it showed 5 for me.
