I recently started a student loan website. I was just wondering if my feeling is correct that because the website URL has "student loan debt solution" in it that I will automatically rank #1 on Google for that search term? If my assumption is correct, how long will it be before my site is at the top of the heap for that search term?
I've had success putting keywords in the url. However. I have read that if the URL contains too many keywords, that it may be considered spammy. The most important thing is an exact keyword match in the h1 tags, as well as good content with good keyword density and positioning. As far as how long it will take, I've had some sites take years and some take a few weeks. It just all depends on the competition for those terms and how many incoming links you have to your site.
There is no time limit, when the website will reach #1. It depends on the process how you are promoting the website.
Ok. Thank you. My hope is since the keyword I'm gunning for is in the domain name that my keyword will go to the top of the heap fairly quickly. But I've been told this will only happen when Google updates PageRank. I've been told this only happens three times a year.
Not always, page rank improvement can bring #1 position for a website. You can find many websites dominating #1 position but don't have higher page rank.
Normally if you have links coming back to your site from authority sites with high PR then your keywords should get noticed within a week or two. In some cases it may take even 2-3 weeks or more. If you notice that still your links are not getting noticed then you should work on your backlinks so that they get noticed.
