    go to google.com Enter ur search query and edit in browser u can add in query string &gl=us this will give u exact US ranking

    Enter url search query and edit in browser (add in your query &gl=us). To be sure, i am also use "Opera turbo" button. This will pass all request through US proxy (like you are in US now).

    What exactly does the &gl=us do? I'm in the US and one of my sites is ranked #16 for a search term when I try in google and #4 if I add "&gl=us" - why the difference?

    are you referring to the ranking of a website? You can check it using alexa.com you will have there the rankings for international and for US.

    there is no separate link for checking the page rank and back links. Use Google Search Engine for checking page rank and back links.

    I worry more about traffic than web ranking, as long as the traffic keeps coming in and the site is showing on SERP for my main keywords I'm good :D

    Yes, traffic is very essential for a website. Better ranking in SEs is needed to get more traffic. If your site is getting more and more visitors then don't worry about ranking.
