Hi I have started a new blog and want to install best SEO plugins could anyone suggest me best plugins for wordpress blog. I have read many posts mostly people are recommending all in one seo and keyword winner, I have installed them already and need more to have a proper set up.
Maybe below given help you little bit to decide. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2060497 DON.
You are kidding, right? That list is just plain wrong to recommend and it contains a lot of affiliate plugins.
I use this plugins as my blog's plugins: blog.web6.org/best-blog-plugins/ You can eliminate seo-pressor and wp robot as they are premium, the rest are free.
Worth to buy Plugins: -WP Robot -WP Syndicator -WP Seopressor Worth To Get Plugins: -Google XML Sitemap -Platinum SEO -Google Sitemap Generator -STT2 -Simple Tags -Relevanssi -Ping Optimizer -SEO Smart Link -Rank Tracker -Kstat -Get The Image -Advanced Excerpt -Privacy Policy -Contact Form
Are these all set it and forget it type plugins and would it matter what your blog is about before installing them?
It just amazes me how many people tell you to install all of these so-called SEO plugins. One is better than the other. They can do this, they can do that. Your rankings will improve. Yada, yada, yada. Next thing you know, you are installing all of this crap (maybe even buying a *cough* premium plugin) and missing the number one SEO elements you have going for you -- your content. SEO plugins do not write it for you. People want these magic pills before they have anything established or worth SEOing in the first place. If you have a new blog without any backlinks, there is not one fricking SEO plugin that is gonna get you better rankings. None.
While I agree with you that bloggers need to gain a better understanding of proper SEO structure, the All in One SEO Pack has helped my content get noticed by search engines very fast.
Who said anything about structure? And that is a bold statement. The All-in-one SEO plugin has nothing to do with you getting noticed by search engines any faster than without it. That is complete hogwash.
We could sit here and debate whether or not what I said is hogwash or you could set about proving that All-in-one SEO doesn't work.
I am not the one that said the plugin "would get you noticed faster by search engines". You did. I made no claims that "it does not work". Your previous claim is hogwash.
I'm mostly wondering since I don't use it but still do fine because of the content. If adding this puts me to the top, awesome, but then, wouldn't it also do the same for everyone else using it making it pointless?
@John Breese: I am not the one that made the claim. Stating that any plugin will get you "noticed faster" by any search engine IS hogwash. Let me ask you this. What does that plugin have to do with controlling a spider? It can't control the crawl speed, when it crawls, it just does not do it. I don't have to prove anything. What WILL get your page "noticed faster" are links pointing at it. Want to know the fastest way to get Google or any other search engine to notice your page quickly? Tweet the post. Googlebot, plus a bunch cloud computing robots will scrape your page within seconds of the Tweet.
There used to be a real need for the All-in-one SEO plugin at one time. About the only thing it is really good for is changing the Titles up, IMO. I use a theme framework that has that functionality already built-into it, so the plugin is redundant. Most premium themes, and theme frameworks, have this built into them (or should have without the need of a plugin). And don't get me wrong. Plugins have their place, if they fill a need. I just hate it when people come into these threads and throw that SEO plugin crap at you without really understanding what they are talking about.
Seem to be missing some well known and useful plugins such as: akismet SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam I also use the following plugins SEO Super Comments SEO Related Posts TweetMeme Retweet Button google xml sitemaps, which @bambangw has already mentioned.
To Any Readers Who Are On The Fence About SEO plugins: There's nothing to be lost from using All-In-One on your WordPress site, so don't take an automatic pass on it simply because of someone's pontification. Having it installed doesn't hamper your site in the least, and filling in the meta info takes seconds.
Whatever dude. Why not just get meta-description and meta-keywords from the data in your excerpt and tags? What is with all of this duplication of effort? Plus, meta information is pretty much dead, useless. More power to you, and I hope all of that work really makes you get into search faster
