    It's important if you want to rank for anything that has some degree of competition. But if you are trying to rank for unprofitable keywords then pagerank is not needed. Do a search in Google and you can easily determine this yourself instead of getting so many uneducated responses from noobs in forums.

    For back link purpose answer is "yes". But for Traffic it is not so much effect.
