The problem we have now is that we have gone the other way! eg. A friend of mine is a teacher. She used a blackboard right? WRONG, she has one of these flip over boards wipe clean white on one side, black with chalk on the other (as well as a laptop projector etc) OK so the black side is NOT a blackboard, it is a 'Chalk board', and the WHITE side is NOT a whiteboard it is a ....... Oh no sorry, apparently it is OK to call it a white board as then it is not offensive! Mad or what? positive discrimination at its best, and I have black friends who tell me they cringe when they have to deal with this sort of lunacy. His 4 year old came home and asked him why the black board was not called a blackboard, but the white borad was called such!

Their religion, colour, race creed etc was not the issue here IMO. The girl asked to be moved because HER LEGAL RIGHT TO EDUCATION was being affected The lesson was being delivered in English and the people in HER group could not debate in English. The simplest solution was to place the non English speaking kids in one group, and get a translator in as a stop gap. The bilingual girl shout not have had to carry such a heavy burden of responsibility
I disagree with you all, how dare she refuse to sit near people who are of different enthicity. She should have been taught how to speak their language from birth anyway! Because of what filthy crime she has committed, she should be sentenced to a fair few years..
The education system is little bit strange here. If kids can't speak english, they should first go and learn english and then go to school where they can be with all english speaking kids. If you put kids that don't speak english, how do you think, they will lean in the class? That teacher needs to go to Recial Tolarance class, not the kid. .
