Registration - email confirm

I have set my vbulletin to use e-mail confirmation. However, I was able to create a username and log in without the e-mail confirmation. Still, I cannot post.

Now, my problem is that no confirmation request was sent and, after login, it is not clear that e-mail confirmation is necessary and there is no message to resend the confirmation e-mail.

What can I do to fix this?

Did you check your mail server logs to see where the message went?

I had a MySQL error while registering. It is "MySQL Error : Duplicate entry '28' for key 'PRIMARY'"

I have cleared the entire user data from an old forum and created this one. It seems that this error prevents the next step from happening..

Sounds like one of your tables is messed up with the auto-increment options.

If it's a new install, I would just reinstall (including the database). If that's not an option, you probably want to have your database administrator get into your database and see what's going on.

My forum has users and posts, I cannot reinstall. What I can do instead is to make a backup and mess up with it a bit more. :)
    Thanks for your help.

[EDIT] I have fixed the problem.

Well, you should let us know what the problem was, it's quite likely that someone with the same problem might find your thread and get help immediately.

Well.. if you have the same problem go check the database and make sure that all the old user details are removed.

For instance, here: "MySQL Error : Duplicate entry '28' for key 'PRIMARY'"

The user who had the ID 28 was not completely removed from the database. Make sure all the old users are removed from all the tables. Then you can start a fresh forum without loosing old posts.
