hey im thing about buying a new site and i think its a newish niche. the domain name gets over 45,000 global searches per month and over 11,000 local searches. and the results from a google search are just over 120,000,000 how quickly do you think it can get to the first page? there is hardly any sites on there directly linking with the main keywords. im thinking of making it a wordpress site then doing reviews on the products then with a link to the poducts at the bottem? how quickly d you think this can climb to the front page and start generating decent traffic? and sales? the keywords are directed to purchasing the product
Well, first of congratulations on your newish niche. It sure has got a lot easier to get a site ranking with a simple Wordpress site. Myself I set one up yesterday and this morning was at the 23 place with one welcome-post and one subpage, not so competative niche. How thorough have you been when you researched the competition for your site on the first page of google? If you don't have any strong keyword-rich domains to compete with and go with a wordpress-setup and publish new content on a regular basis in the start I think that you with some backlinks might be on the first page within days or a couple of weeks tops. Best, Junior.
Hello You will need to ensure that your research has been done properly: Have you search for your keywords in quotes i.e. exact match? if you are looking at broad match it will not be very accurate. Also, being searched about alot doesn't mean it will bring you a lot of sales. You need to double check if the keywords are BUYER keywords. Whether you will make lots of sales or not, is also dependent on how your write your product reviews, the look of your website, and also the product and the product price itself. All these factors have to be taken into consideration. So product research is really very important, rather than just looking at surface. Hope it helps. Let me know if you need further help. Cheers
thanks guys very much i did a search for the exact keywords in the domain and the search results are a little over 140,000 and the only "competator" site has hardly and content to do with the acctual keywords ony one of them.
Great. Seems like it might be something you would like to target. Just make sure you are applying the correct techniques in your review sites.
i think a new niche site doesn't take a lot of time to get listed in a good position in Google . so starting quickly is the best idea. congrats for your new site and my advice will be just after welcome article and some sub articles which are content of your site, start PPC or SEO to get listed in the good position in Google. start working now.
It sounds to me like your traffic estimates are off. Someone mentioned to do an exact phrase search - they're talking about in Google Keyword Tool and not actually searching Google. Just from briefly reading the numbers that you mentioned, it will probably take a decent amount of work to go after that keyword phrase. Are we talking about an exact phrase match .com domain name or just trying to target a keyword phrase with an article?
its a global domain. and the results i showed are using the keyword tool 45,000 global searches and 11,000 local (UK) and around 17,000 in the us. i have added articles to it and im going to reguarly add new ones to help push it to googles front page for the keyword, and im creating good backlinks to help drive traffic in. and all my articles are written with keywords relating to the site.
well this is my first crack at trying to make a sucessful site that will hopefully make money using amazon affiliate, we shall see if it picks up.
Make sure you are looking at "Exact" match for your keyword, as otherwise it is a blended figure from variations on that keyword...
No one can give you an exact measurement of how much you will make or how quickly you will get to the top of Google. Those factors depend on the market and YOU. Do you believe people want and are willing to pay for the things you are trying to sell? Do people want the information on your website? Copywriting skills are very important.
i have setup the site now and its getting a fair bit traffic for a site thats like 15 days old, i have some seo optimised content so hopefully it should reach googles first page for a number of keywords
Good luck with this site. What did you end up doing making it a wordpress blog with some kind of amazon plugin or did you create a full store script? What I have done in the past is install wordpress as my main site and then on a subfolder I installed this new fresh store builder script and It has worked out very well for me. I have also do it other way around made fresh store builder the main store and then added a wordpress blog in subfolder.
