about ebooks

Four Hour Work Week made the e-Book idea widely popular. Do you think e-books still have an allure? If you were to write an e-book, would it be a free download to your site to attract hits and you would have another way to monetize, or can e-books still be sold? What is the right price for an e-book? Just curious what you all think out there!

Of course they still can be sold :) but you should provide good content in order to keep your customers satisfied. Concerning the price - it depends where you sell it. On forums like this and Warrior Forum they are pretty cheap, maybe even to cheap... But if you have a good email list, you can promote it to them for a higher price, and the price range then vary very much, depending again, on content.

    Hi Rachel,

Depends on how you want to execute your plan. For a start, I suggest you write free ebooks, to follow up your visitors with related promotions in your niche; once they joined your free subscription. Then once you build your subscribers base, then in the future you can write a paid ebook related to your niche, and follow up your subscribers with your paid ebook.

If you're looking to sell the ebook, you could also get in touch with others who have a large subscription base, by joint venture.

    Hope this helps

    Regards,

    Rich Student

    Hi,

I think good content + links to your site + an attached Policy could also work... you might get some valorous backlinks if you just give your ebook away for free.

There are many ways to use ebooks in your marketing. I have both free ebooks, and a couple that sell for $47. The free ones are usually to build my lists and don;t need to be as long or detailed as the $47 ones. Just look on Clickbank to get an idea of what ebooks are selling, and for how much.

Speaking for myself, I don't really make a buying decision on whether or not it's an ebook or physical book. It all comes down to content. Will whatever I'm purchasing give me the information that I need/want - and in an easy-to-understand format. That's all I care about.

Don't forget competition with the growing market with Kindells and E-readers. You will want to consider the price of what published ebooks are selling for. I've recently lowered the price of my ebook to match everything else that is available. If you were to offer an online course and have the e-book accompany it - I think that is the next money maker via the net.

I am doubtful about its utility but still find many people adopting this strategy- providing free e book for generating more traffic.

Visitors would prefer free ebook and they could share it with their friends. It can be sold if you provided helpful and quality contents.

One method that works very well is to write an ebook about a topic that's 'evergreen' and then offer it totally free to people you converse with on forums such as Yahoo Answers. Inside the ebook - VERY close to the front - should be an offer for the reader to join your email list.

Getting people on a dynamic email list is one of the best ways to generate serious income very quickly!

ebooks are one of the best giveaways for opt-in email lists. However it has to be something worthwhile downloading/buying for people to opt-in. Nowdays knowledge is extremely powerful and people are willing to pay heaps just to learn some new way of making money!

So in conclusion, yes I still think eBooks are still in demand :)

many people are confident now and don't buy ebooks now, So I think to give it free on your blog or site to attract visitors is good thing.

With Kindle, ebooks are a huge draw there, and with a site like CreateSpace, you can actually have a hardcopy/print version of your book to give away or sell offline. CreateSpace is owned by Amazon, and they will help you market it...So, between the Kindle Store and Amazon Store, you can have one ebook for sale and can "double dip" in the profits....you can also brand yourself as an expert whose work is published and available on Amazon (good for credibility), and can add to your distributor list as detailed by JR Rich above...

Correct. The Kindle market is getting to be huge. One possible strategy is to use Instant Article Wizard to product a nice 10-15 page ebook and then convert it into a Kindle version.

Kindle profits aren't generally very large ... but produce enough of them and you're looking at some significant income.

    All on autopilot!
