If HDI means anything to you then "socialist" New Zealand with arguably the most extensive welfare programs ranks better than capitalist US ;)

Yep. They got a .907 to our score of .902, though in fairness, they are an island so they don't have to worry about people like you trying to sneak into their country and feed off their welfare programs. They also operate their welfare programs at the good graces of the United States, who essentially guarantee a military response to any and all threats to their sovereignty. In other words, we pay for a military so they don't have to.

You would have been better to cite Australia, another island, who also has us beat with a statistically significant index of .937. All these numbers, of course, in comparison to India's score of .519.

Lol ! That index is crap. Some former reds much better than Japan and Singapore. That index score is just like Google PR.

I wanted to add an additional study I've found. While the 2010 Quality of Life Index appears to be a fair reflection of the factors it was designed to measure. i.e. Cost of Living, Leisure & Culture, Economy, Environment, Freedom, Health , Infrastructure, Risk and Safety, and Climate. Here's another one by Newsweek, just to add to the mix. It measures Education, Health, Quality of Life, Economic Dynamism and Political Environment. It evaluates these factors for the top 100 countries, with 1 being the best, and 100 the worst. In regards to Romania vs. India, Romania ranks at 39, and India at 78.

The QLI final score doesn't seem to be that relevant to the normal guy . People in Uruguay don't live better then those in Taiwan or UAE . The table provides raw information but it need to be taken case by case and analyzed .

From what i've learn in demographics the HDI final score is responsible for the average life expectancy and the wealth of it's inhabitants .

Also there are few non-E.U. countries that have higher standards in life quality then member countries .
Each member country needs to maintain very high standards in all aspects of it laws and condition of the country and people . This is why it took a lot of sacrifices to get it and even more to stay in .

Whit half of it's population under the poverty limit India can't even compare . China is even worst as it's numbers are always modified to look good . It's estimated that China has 1 billion people in poverty and over 200 millions under the poverty line . When it comes to quality of life it is more important to have good management rather then big numbers .

Hitler and the axis Arabs were far from friends. They shared a common enemy - Jews and the British - since they were colonised. You can bet your 'bottom dollar' that once the National Socialists had succeeded they would have destroyed the Arabs along with all other non-Aryans.

Hitler and Co. radicalised Islam, though. That's why it's debatable whether Islam is inherently a violent ideology/religion.

Qur'an predates Hitler by a few years ;)
Hitler may have given them a vehicle for their violence, but the ideology existed long before Hitler was ever conceived.

It's not islam the problem, it's religion. Religions have been invented to have an excuse for war.
If no religion, half of wars in history wouldn't existed...

Now I agree that there are religions like Buddhism for love and Islam for hate...But still...

You've lost me here. "Its not Islam the problem, it's religion"???

You do realize that Islam is a religion right? That kinda IS the problem. ;)

Islam is a religion, religion is not islam. Islam is part of the problem, religion is the whole problem...

Have a laugh/look at those radical christians here. They are as dangerous as islamists IMO...

That may be true but did they act upon it on such a scale as now, before Hitler?

Ok... ok I think I've managed to stop laughing. You guys ready for some grade A comedy?

The forum with the crazy christians Cody posted the link to has its members collect little icons. I had no idea how backwards people could be. I hovered over the earth icon and it popped up with "flat earth". No way can there really be people who deny the world is spherical.

Worryingly, the fist icon pops up with "tell her once". I dread to think what that means!
See the hand with the red circle and cross through it? That's an "ex-masturbator" icon HAHAHA no joke!

My word, this is golden. Look at this lunatic's show of icons:

The ultimate irony is that he also has a "christian love" icon!

This is the best one. Too good to not share with you all. The little face pops up with:
