Yes that's a scam, and the guy managed to install a hijack script onto your computer, so when you visit youtube, it redirects to youtube.com-prizes.com
But his actual site is com-prizes.com

Please see the domain name in your browser first next time before submitting anything. It could be a fake page and he could capture all your information like password etc.

Contact youtube and notify them of the problem, as they're using "youtube" to their own benefit, and it has nothing to do with youtube whatsoever.

    Regards,

    Rich Student

That URL isn't even for the YouTube site. Someone just wants you to think it is when you glance at it. I would always avoid URLs like that. It could be a scam, a phishing site, a virus, or just some spammer trolling for email addresses. Better to be safe than sorry. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

This is not youtube youtube is www-youtube-com this is www-youtube-prizes-com just like www-paypal-your-acct-com is a fake paypal address It is called phishing they probably want your bank info to "claim the prize"

www-youtube-prizes-com is registered by -Moniker Privacy Services 20 SW 27th Ave. Suite 201 Pompano Beach FL 33069 US Kind of funny because "Moniker" means fake name.

Yeah that definitely smells like a scam. Don't trust anything that's not from the actual domain, unless you know otherwise.

    it is not from youtube.com.

it is a redirect to another site that can or may get your computer info and probably is geo targeting certain counties much like what hulu does. probably a survey thing or they'll put your info on their for "future uses"

They were not to you, so don't worry. They were to the OP.
I'm just verry confused at seeing amember of DP getting tricked by simple phishing.

I know this is not the scam of youtube itself. I was trying to let the people know about it.
If I did not start this thread, you may not know about it
To gain the attention I use this type of subject "youtube scam"
YouTube is one of the giant of internet, it does not need this type of scam.

    This is funny stupidity right?
