One Thing I Did When I Was Failing and How I Turned It Around!!!!! :-)

    Right now I am involved in an offline service niche and I am doing very well with it! Besides all the word of mouth traffic I get, all the rest of our clients come from the internet!

    It wasn't always this way. I have tried several hundreds ways, in my past, to make money. Especially online!

    I notice now in my success that one of the early mistakes I made early on is the fact that I was not building relationships with people. I was treating the internet like a traffic microwave.

    Stick in some conjured up crap and out come spam sandwiches! Not treating them like honored valued guests and giving them the best of me and what I have to offer as an individual.

    I don't know about you , but I hate spam sandwiches I was stupid to ever try to feed them to other people!

    I think I just didn't realize that these were real live people on the other end of these sites I was shoving my crap in!

    Its almost like I thought I was the only real person online! So the media I put out came off as such. Like I was feeding a traffic vending machine!

    Pumping in quarters and interested buyers popping out buying my stuff in an instant!

    I know this stuff sounds crazy, but I know I'm not the only one so..

    Anyway once I accepted revelation that there are real live people that cruise the internet with there very own thoughts, interests, desires, goals, ambitions, and started treating them as such things started to get a lot better for me!

    Instead of looking for the next great way to "Make $100/day on auto-pilot" do yourself a favor and learn how to build relationships, learn copy writing, learn how to find the lookers!

    These are all valuable skills that will stay with you and give you longevity in this whole thing!

    One of the few things I learnt is that "you can get pretty much anything you want in life when you help just as many people get what they want". I believe its no different with the internet, marketing, etc.

    I think the point is that we can't just sell to people anymore. We gotta tell them a story with the moral of our story being that they need our product. On the other hand If you aren't selling products, or free trials, then we can feed them crap all we want! lol. There's more ways online to make money than by helping a transaction happen. If we have something people want they may fill out surveys for us! I've been most sucess full with promoting Cpa Lead offers. You do have to get into the persons head tho. you can't be like "fill out this survey OR ELSE" you have to be like "fill out this survey BECAUSE [insert benefit here]" while you do have to put yourself in another person's shoes, You don't nesesarily have to serve a five star meal. Of course the 5 star meal is the best way to get returning customers.

    It's true but it's not anything new, for some reason people see the internet and think numbers, but it's always been about one thing: manipulating people's desires to be in line with your product.

    You are right. A lot of people forget about human desire and
    how important it is to build it into their product and their sales
    copy.

    The first thing I did when I jumped on the Internet Marketing
    train was learn as much as I could about copywriting.

    Words do sell...but remember that they have to be tuned-in to your target. That means talking THEIR language...meeting THEIR needs...and ultimately knowing more about them than they know about themselves!

    Thanks for sharing this awesome thread!

    I totally agree with you that when building a business online it is a must to build as many relationships as possible. The people that visit your site are infact real people with real thoughts & intentions. If you treat them like spam bots then you will get nothing in return.

    The truth is there is much you will learn from building relationships, that you won't learn any other way. Personally, I love building all the relationships possible. I enjoy holding conversations with like-minded people all over the world. There are countless things that go into building a successful online business, but building relationships surely is somewhere at the top of the list.

    It is a MUST!

    Customer service is often overlooked - particularly in the IM market. So called "gurus" are pumping out all kinds of c**p and pushing other marketers products that they probably haven't even reviewed, just to make a quick buck. It makes me wonder how they even stay in business. I guess the sheer volume of sales makes up for the refunds.
