I have a question. What does adlogger exactly does? How does it function? I know channels can help monitor things, but what does adlogger does?

I see one useful thing in it that you can set up not to show the adds after defined number of clicks for same user during a day.

Adlogger save a report of all the click throughs...

It shows u the clickers IP, the URL which he was taken to, Time.

And if a user click more ads at a present period, then ads will be automatically blocked for him... so it protects your adsense account

If this was helpful... give me some reputation ;)

Adlogger basically does these two things:

    1. Records the IP (if options is turned on) of every visitor that clicks on an ad. Remember, though, an Adlogger "Click" is ONLY an indication of when the user has "moused over" the ad, NOT actually performed a "click" (this is why your adlogger click totals and your adsense click totals will vary). Since the ad itself is controlled by Google, it would be very hard to determine if the user actually clicked on the ad itself.

    2. Checks the number of times that IP has "clicked on" the ad against the database, and if they have already reached their "click limit" for that period of time (as set by you in the config file), will dynamically choose to not show the ad (that's the PHP script you wrap around it).

    Hope that helps.

EDIT: I stand corrected. According to the FAQ (which I should have read first), an adlogger click occurs in a variety of ways, and "mousing over" the ad itself is not sufficient to trigger a click. More info available here.

Check their FAQ on their web site. They explained a good amount of details recently.

It can be helpful, I guess, if you're super worried about a "click attack" (those these are admittedly pretty rare).. but otherwise it's just kind of some extra tracking stats in the background, and an easy way to enable/disable ads for yourself or anyone else.

What really matters, of course, at the end of the day are your real adsense stats, so no real reason to get too hyped up over Adlogger recording a lot of "clicks". :)

Only now, I knew that AdLogger log hover as clicks.
So if I hover to my AdSense, will it be consider as a click too?

highly recommended to prevent click fraud

it's the main purpose i use it for

plus, you can block your own ip ( if static ) or your own ip range ( if dynamic ) to prevent yourself from accidentally clicking your own ads
