    Hey there,

We've recently launched the first serious forum on the subject of Site Flipping (buying/building websites to sell them for profit) and have organised a $1,000 Referral Contest.

Even though only a few days old, the forum is already buzzing and there's a lot of useful material posted so driving new members to it should be incredibly easy.

Full details about the contest are posted at http://flippingplanet.com/forum/threads/31-URGENT!-Easy-1-000-in-1-month!-FP-Referral-Contest (you don't need to register in order to take a look).

The contest will run up until the forum gets its 1000th member, which is likely to happen within 1-3 weeks (we've got 80 members in 3 days). Chances of winning are rather high too as currently the leader of the contest has only 3 qualified referrals!

    All the best!
    Bryan

P.S. To moderators: If this is, for some reason, not allowed over here then please delete the thread and accept my apologies. I did go through rules prior to opening the thread and didn't notice anything that would make it disallowed.

Nope, you yourself don't need to have anything :)

The people who you refer do need to make at least 10 posts to qualify though in order to avoid spam signups. This benefits all contestants though.

No need to tell me to count me in. It's a public contest so anybody who wants to can join! :)

How do you count my referral? How do we know a public winner will be chosen. If all you can choose a friend to show the public audience as if you chose a winner.

Some tips as to why I don't believe you have the $1000 to give away. Firstly, as web master myself with $1000 you can spend $250 a week on AdWords and get a lot of quality traffic to your website. As well as that their are ad networks that provide CPC ads. £0.03 per click exactly. Using $1000 to advertise with them will give you 33,000 people coming to your site. So I don't believe this is a real contest.

Correct me If I'm wrong. There is no guarantee that there will be a winner and the $1000 will be given to a public member.

Thanks for your constructive criticism, Naruto2c, but you're indeed wrong I'm afraid.

Those who are a bit familiar with the industry know quite well that myself and my partner have a reputation beyond repute and would never get involved in anything like you're suggesting.

As for your suggestion regarding PPC, we're indeed running a PPC campaign as well and will have spent considerably more than $1,000 on this (mainly due to the fact that getting targeted clicks is far more expensive than a few cents) - and if you would have done your research as thoroughly as you prepared your reply you would have already known that.

Assuming that you've familiarised yourself with the nature and the rules of the contest prior to posting, you probably know that it runs up until the 1000th member registers. Given that 50% of new registrations come through the contest and the other 50% via other channels, the effective CPA we're paying is $2 for each *QUALIFYING* member - hardly something that can be easily achieved with PPC (at $0.50 per click and as high as conversion rate as 10% effective CPA would be $5).

I don't expect everybody to have a good sense of business but I do expect people to do their research first before posting hideous and comments like the one above.

All in all, it is up to everybody to decide whether they want to participate or not. I'm not forcing anybody to do it (and how could I!) so everybody is free to make up their mind as to whether to believe in our integrity or not.

    Cheers,
    Bryan

EDIT: P.S. To be completely honest I did expect to get a few hate-comments like this. Not everybody has the funds necessary to launch new ventures properly and jealousy is a b*tch.

Ah yes - thought I'd quickly add that someone on the forum already asked whether it's possible to see the list of people the winners referred after the contest to ensure the integrity etc. and the answer of course is yes.

There's no privacy concerns involved (I can't see it hurting anyone that others know who referred them) so there's really no reason for us to not publish these referral-lists.

    This is a very good analysis;

Also 1000 members is very small, how will you be counting the members? Will you be counting active members or just the total members? If you have some experience in setting up forums you should probably know that 1000 members really means nothing. You might as well have 50 active members that a count of 1000 members. I hope I made sense there.

You'll be getting lot's bots registrations especially now because Vbulletin boards are very targeted. $1000 for 1000 members does not seem logical to me unless you have lot's of money to spend and have nothing to use it for. You will probably get more members by paying the same amount on other forums which will get you more than the 1000 members.

Firstly your reputation isn't beyond repute in DP. It's currently 'bryanon will become famous soon enough'. Also your iTrader also shows it at 96%. Secondly, instead of wasting $1000 on member sign-ups that won't be active hardly and looking at your figures you'll be paying $2 CPA. It will be best for you to go and buy your own eBook of getting 31,000 traffic, thats 1000 traffic a day :).

Oh, and the part where not everyone has the funds to start their own venture. I am sure there are many who can, but they are not so blind as some people who spend huge amounts to get 500 sign-ups which may not be active.

P.S. I'm just here to point out some pointers on contest which say they will pay large amounts of money. I'm here to help the DP community to enter contest that will pay.

I support your words Naruto, but how can you immediately declare that this contest is legit or fake because the price is divided in 3 parts
