Google and Auto Blogs

Discussion in 'Google' started by feshusband, Jan 23, 2011.

Has anyone read about Google declaring war on Auto blogs and content farms? It would appear that the end maybe near. But aren't Ariticle sites content farms? I don't think they are going to ban or penalize Ezine Articles. Any thoughts on the subject?

Google has disliked autoblogs for ages (over a year). While it's not as simple as having an autoblog = getting de-indexed, they do de-index a lot of autoblogs on daily basis so you're always risking getting slapped in the face and left without any traffic.

If you still want to run autoblogs and are good at monetising them then the sensible thing to do would be not keeping all your eggs in one basket and creating several sites instead of one big one. While doing this, you obviously need to take necessary precautions such as not hosting all of the sites on one server, not inter-linking etc.

Not all Auto blogs are trash.

If done properly they can be very good and useful.

I would advice you not to use them because you can get caught and be banned

Google loves accessing websites and blogs which contain unique and fresh contents but as you can guess, since on a lot of autoblogs, like thousands of them, exactly the same points, tips, reviews and details about products and the industry have been published, so Google may not really like indexing all of the copied materials. About article directories, haven.t you noticed that only a few of such links gained can be seen on your Google Webmaster panel? Most of them are deindexed very fast.

Where? Please provide the proof link.
    Well...
Only bad blogs have duplicated content. Good autoblogs have unique content (by different ways).
It's true, Google doesn't... But how can Google know that this particular blog is autoblog? Can someone answer?
    IMHO it's not true. It has seo-value - as niche-related link's source.
Just don't place AdSense to autoblogs.

They supposedly have added something to their algorithm to deter autoblogs.

feshusband, thanks for the link. But auto blogs are something different than "content farms" Googleblog is talking about. And here is quotation which shows what G rises fighting with:

They say, they focus on "low-quality sites". So, as long as you provide good content, you're fine.

Google didn't declare any 'war' against auto blogs. Its only about AdSense not allowed for auto blogs. Some people are arguing about legality of auto blogs, but Google never said its illegal. Google just said one of their products (AdSense) is not allowed on automated content generation blog sites. That's it.

Google will not ban Ezinearticles since they ask for original content from authors. When others pick up their content and post in blogs, that becomes duplicate :) Article Directories keep themselves unique and advice you to copy and duplicate their contents :)

i think google should stop crawling sites with more than a certain percentage of duplicate content. this will help every honest webmaster and also keep google's search database in healthy condition. SEO will be much easier afterward.

As for duplicate content it is all clear long ago. Autoblogs do not necessarily have duplicate. How can G know that this particular blog is autoblog? Any ideas?
