I have this person on my site, he shows me his stuff, ok, his stuff looks good, it looks like he can design, no problem... some-time goes by, then he comes back on my site, then insults me, and laughs about it, oh, ok, no biggie..i guess he is joking around, who knows... then he insults me more by saying that I suck at coding, how can you possibly run a website with such bad coding...ok, I have a brand new forum, but he already knows that I am not a coder, and having a brand new site isnt going to be the best, and not everyone that comes to the site will be looking at coding issues... So far, he has contributed nothing to the forum, and I guess he hangs around now expecting me to buy his services.... I consider myself fairly friendly, and do not mind chatting with you in your time of need, but to come to my forum, and tell me that I am stupid does not make you the brightest egg in the batch if you are expecting some type of sale. These are the type of peope I prefer not be on my forum. bad marketing skills.... and to think i was actually going to buy a blog template from him, and it did not take long for him to screw that deal up.... some people are just complete retards....
I wouldn't say it's bad marketing skills. It's horrible people skills though. Sounds like some douche that thinks he'll get what he wants by insulting you. If this is taking place on your forum, I'd just delete him
your right, I may change that to Bad People Skills 101... I was starting to think he was cool since he has been on the site for at least a week now, then all of a sudden he starts acting all crazy with I am a coder and you are not attitude... I am not going to delete him because he has not done anything horrible on the forum. I hate deleting or banning people, and I will not do so unless he starts to threatn the forum.
Let him stick around and argue with him. Most people will charge you to hang around your forum and generate conversation, whether it's productive or not. As long as you keep your cool about it, you're getting free forum posting service out of him.
He really does not post that much. I also think it would not look very good to bring arguement into a new forum. It maybe ok for such a forum like DP. but I would like to expect a higher amount of quality then to resort into forum arguements just to get more forum arguements. I surely could use forum publicity, then you have to ask yourself, at what cost, is it really worth it... Am I really proving quality content to others by allowing low quality content such as arguements that tend to really lead no where excpet down a destructive path....
I'm not saying go out and pick fights with people, but there's a reason they teach Drama in middle school.
I am not sure what he is thinking or doing now. When he insulted me, then told me my forum sucked because I was a bad coder... I closed chat on him. I am fairly cool person, or I would have banned him so far down, he would not have even found his way back by using those hide my ip websites, so I have done nothing to him, and will not unless he brings his crap on the forum, and I do not mind a debate, thats not a problem, but when you start insulting other people, then your welcome is over.
If he is marketing his business to you and he goes about it insulting you, then yes, he is displaying bad marketing skills. If he thinks that you will avail of his services just because he said that you are a bad coder, then that makes him the one of the worst online marketers ever. So, while you may not want top drop him from your forum, never ever change your mind about not buying anything from him.
He is a bad at marketing and has bad people skills. I was going to buy one of his blog themes which looked really good. I do not think I will after what he pulled... its like walking in, and telling the staff how bad they are, and how awuful the food is, I would not expect to be served.... well some staff may have to put up with that crap because he is the customer after all; However, I do not have to put up with him.
Restaurants have no choice but be subjected to such tirade. However, you as a prospective client shouldn't have been treated as such. So, you made a good choice in not buying his template. Bad marketing + bad people skills = no customer
thats why i sorta caught myself, some places have to put up with you, at least to their breaking point. I am just baffled and clueless on why he just turned into an idiot when I thought we were getting along so well.
There are really people like that. Either they think what they are doing is okay and could get them the sale or they can't just help being the way they are.
I get the impression that you had this guy thinking he was going to get some work, and that you just blew him off after seeing his work. Your pace is too slow for him because he doesn't have any other projects, and he has nothing better to do right now than pester you.
