I had a new idea .... my new dir after the transformation will be a content directory which will be achieved with the very long descriptions. I can see in my mind how it will look like.
Well, they figured out how to submit to TOP cats even when not allowed by the script, they figured out how to bypass image validation, they use rotating IPs to avoid IP banning, etc... I don't doubt your skills and hope you have something to combat these mother stickers. There is truly nothing on Earth that pisses me off more than these spammers on the web. If you can abolish directory spam, Rob, you will have literally "built a better mouse trap." Actually, your new plans will likely improve your old plans of having a directory strictly for SEO purposes. It certainly won't hurt it.
Thats what i would have answered! With 10 bucks you can drink 5 beers in Vietnam if you do well . Now its true we know all the web directories owners are alcoholic. They were never able to spam, NOR submit to top level cats on activeweblinks when I had my code in place (awl is currently 'broken' for submission(s)... as per my evilness hahaha) While I offer no promises of completely defeating it, I will most definately be looking into combating it for *our directory script*. All done in good faith and to the best of my abilities as possible.
Sounds great, Rob! Once you get your anti-spam technique working, I may hit you up to create a special mod for my sites. I would like for anyone who has attempted to spam my sites to recieve the following pic: EDIT: No! That pic is NOT me!

yea, after I posted that pic of the fat guy at the computer in that other thread, I got a couple messages like, "Dude, tell me that isn't really you!" LOL! One guy I talk to regularly, I responded falsely, "Yea, it's really me...why?...tell me...honestly...do you think my ass is too big?"

If you create that mod Rob i would love to use it, also why not alternate pictures, one time the spammer see the boobies guy then another time he sees the naked fat dude in front of his computer, huh?
