No it doesn't. The theme used by TechCrunch is developed by TechCrunch and is probably not available for download anywhere. That link you gave out is just a theme (poorly written at that) that somebody put together to capitalize on the name.

There is more to a theme than just the name and trying to be a knock-off. There needs to have some functionality in the backend also, which that theme does not have.

Nope. Not really. I am not sure what you are really looking for. Is it the aesthetics, or some of the functionality that they have.

If it is aesthetics, you can basically do that yourself with a handful of images and your CSS stylesheet. The functionality you see on the front end, would need to be tackled one item at a time and can be scripted into the theme or added via a plugin. As to what is going on Admin wise in the backend, you would have to ask TechCrunch. They may not have anything special, or maybe they have advanced editors, member management, or other neat things.

Why does he have to PM you? Give him the Url to the theme.

    http://bodhayantalksaboutcomputer.blogspot.com/2010/10/compress-theme-free-professional-theme.html

That theme is supposedly inspired by TechCrunch, but bares no resemblance. What is weird is that they are promoting it off of a Blogger blog, and not a WordPress blog -- so I looked at the coding a little closer.

Whoever put this theme together has cut and pasted various snippets of code from around the web without properly prefixing their function names. I would suspect there may be conflicts with existing function names later down the road.

I looked at header.php and just about gagged. There is a link to a stylesheet for page navigation that does not exist, it enqueues jQuery for the express purpose of setting up homepage excerpt boxes which will print out on every page (needed or not), there is a Meta Description tag that uses the Blog Description for each and every page, and more. I had to stop because I couldn't take it anymore.

But it is a free theme and you will get what you pay for.

I don't exploit themes. Though its free. "Try search the keyword then you see wares sites so I don't paste any links in here dude." I also don't want earn on download files from filehostings. I managed to tweak the theme. I also replicated the Mashable theme by myself.

What are you trying to say? Because I am not sure.

If this is your theme and you are worried about Warez, then why not just come out and say it and promote a link to the demo. Why Google "a keyword" (whatever you mean by that, you did not give any reallly) And why is the demo on a Blogspot blog?

Replicate? Unless you know what is going on in the backend, I highly doubt you could replicate what Mashable is doing. There are three parts to a theme, in practice, and plastic surgery only goes skin deep.
