ok you recommend those sites, but I dont see a million link exchanges banners on your site. How do you implement the exchange?

It's not link exchange. They are traffic exchange programs and sites where you pay to add a backlink. I suppose I should add some traffic exchange programs on there but I don't want people to get penalized for doing a lot of reciprocal linking so I'd have to explain the robots.txt stuff....

I don't get much traffic from usfreeads but my links are on pr 3 pages and it was pretty cheap.

Traffic exchange sites don't work for all sites. Especailly trafficswarm. Most of them are a waste of time. Well I found that out anyway.

I'll get right to the point

    1. Pay-per-click: Adwords, Overture, MSN
    2. Build a blog and submit the RSS feed to get it syndicated. Add your blog to blogrolls.
    3. Submit your site to directories. Basically do a search with your primary keyword followed by directory to find some.
    4. Post in related forums.
    5. Social Bookmark your site.
    6. Search blogger for related blogs and post useful comments on the blogs.
    7. Join a reciprocal linking service that has a built in user pool like linkmachine or linkmarket.

That should get you started. There are plenty other ways to get traffic, those are the most common and easy to do.

    Good Luck,

    Don

Interesting site but it is extremely hard to read. You don't have the right complementary colors or color contrasts. Please check out http://www.color-wheel-pro.com/color-theory-basics.html - a large amount of people(colorblind or older people) have trouble with colors. Make your colors easy on the eye instead of strainful. I hope you are not offended by my advice.

Start a blog, then market it.
Use the ideas that totlanet has mentioned.
Choose your articles which are 1-2 months
old. Make simple changes and submit them
    to article directories.

Nobody seems to have mentioned search engines, the main driver of traffic on the web.

Make sure your site ranks highly for loads of search terms and you are made for life.

Thanks for the advice. I bought this site not too long ago with the current design and I've been trying to patch things up on the site (so many html errors it was ridiculous). I'm thinking it just needs an entirely new design which hopefully I'll get around to soon.

Search engines do help but it's kind of difficult or rather black hole to get Google's logic of geting a higher listing. It's easier on Yahoo/MSN though
