I have recent problem that i'm selling an ebook then when the buyer bought the ebook then the buyer will file a DISPUTE (it SUCKS cause when the buyer file dispute you will also be deducted $10) so if 10 people file a Dispute on you, $100 will be deducted to your paypal funds, and worst thing ever was you will have no choice but to refund, or if not at the end the money paid by the buyer will be back to the buyer and at the same time he got the ebook for free. The seller lost his ebook ,and as well as an $10 for a charge of dispute by the buyer. Thats how paypal sucks. but i had no choice. I just wanna know is there any way we can stop those "BUYER SCAMMER" from ripping us sellers?. cause its easy to them file a dispute and win cause they have buyer protection while us dont have. I am trying to figure out putting a tracking info/number to the ebook, but seems lost. I even try using ejunkie link so you will get the details and Ip of the buyer but still in the end after paypal dispute , seller end up losing. so any guys here expert in here?or can relate with me. Thanks.
One method used by some people is shipping a CD with ebook in it so that you can provide shipping info to Paypal and win dispute if there is any.
thanks for your reply, i think i heard this one already but did not try yet. can i ask you something regarding this? how about if your just selling an ebook for $25 then you would try to ship it to your buyer shipping address.. 1) would you think that was really expensive on your part?. cause your be the one to pay for shipping right?. 2) and how much would it be the fee for shipping?. do you know the table rates for fee for country? 3) How about some guy make a fool on you like providing you a fake shipping address? 4) Is there any online company that ship ebook and provide a tracking info?
^^^^ No one is going to provide tracking info for a digital product. But once you load it on a CD, tracking comes alive as it becomes a physical product and you can ship it.
An option would be to tell whoever purchasing your ebook to send the payment as a Gift - You cant file a dispute on a payment sent as a "Gift" - I use it because when people use that option i don't get any fees, but it may have also saved my ass .
was that paypal gift the payment you send using the "OTHER" options?..but i have some case where in even gift was been disputed.
Yea your best option would be to get them to send it as a gift or a donation. It makes it harder for them to open a dispute, and to provide a reason that they charged back.
Best method is receiving the money as a gift, i don't think there is no other way to prevent the dispute problem.
