They are already a superpower. Every household in the US has a made in China brand. You know what though and here is the rub. They got too drunk with their success and forgot that they are wearing an underwear that says "Made in China".

Could you define "owning the 20th century"? China seem to be doing well currently economically and have been more or less growing at 10% every year. Which is the highest growth for any country in the world. Though if you mean that America's economy is worth 14 trillion, then yes, I do admit, they certainly have done very well to get to that stage. But who owns most of the U.S. debt? China. So you could say the U.S. owns the 21st century, but China owns America. So they own the 21st century and the U.S. It is win-win!
Are you a believer in perpetual motion, or never ending increases in value? There is a reason we call them economic cycles. Are you valuing our economy based on our annual GDP? China holds 20% of the 44% of Federal debt held by foreign entities(private and public), or 8% of all US federal debt. Perpetuating that kind of nonsense is what creates idiotic threads like this.
