How can I get buttons like this? I want it to be pertinent to the post NOT to the website, make sense?
The Digg Digg plug-in allows us to add buttons to share content on most of the popular social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Google Buzz, Yahoo Buzz, etc. The configuration options provided by the control are very handy. You can control what buttons are required on your site, the order of them, positioning ( left/right floating, before content or after content) and many more. It’s been quite long since we wrote about a WordPress plug-in on Tech Dreams but we could not resist writing about this as we it as very useful for bloggers to drive traffic. What are your thoughts on Digg Digg Plug-in?
You can use plugins like: Share this or Sociable OR You can hardcode each individual button by using the code generated using the respective button creation tools. http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like http://twitter.com/about/resources/tweetbutton http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1dku1S/www.articlestools.com/articles/stumbleupon.shtml
So I've had problems with this. I tried using "Share this" code and it produced this Line #1 is my Facebook Share plugin and Tweetmeme plugin. Line #2 is the code I got from Share This for Facebook, Twitter, Email and Stumble. Line #1 is correct displaying how many times the post has been shared, which is what I want. Line #2 is incorrectly displaying how many times the entire site has been shared, which is NOT what I want. I'd like to keep the buttons visible like on Mashable (not some scroll down thing).
Bizzare! I haven't used share this or sociable for a long time as I prefer to hardcode my social buttons... Can you give a link to your site? The other thing could be a plugin conflict? Not really sure... But did you deactivate the FB share and Twmeme plugins while using the share this?
I've tried just about every plugin (addthis, sharethis, socializer, social share, all in 1 bookmarking, etc.) but the only one I found to work well was Digg-Digg. It's very user friendly and has a lot of customization options.
I have added my own..i have also a video tutorial with it, even with fade in and out effect. But i prefer using text instead of image to speed up my blog a bit.
