It is an experience common to all men to find that, on any special occasion, such as the production of a magical effect for the first time in public, everything that can go wrong will go wrong. Whether we must attribute this to the malignity of matter or to the total depravity of inanimate things, whether the exciting cause is hurry, worry, or what not, the fact remains

I would not mind an hour without google and it will not have any significant impact on me.
It might have some impact on the people searching for smth, but they will simply use another search engine...
However, doubt it is likely to happen and who cares actually :p

It is pretty unlikely that Google will go down. They have multiple data centers in many different places. It is interesting that there haven't been many high profile cases of security flaws with Google. Obviously they are doing something right!!

Personally I never seen google offline. However if it does go offline, for most majority of people, they will just retype yahoo.com or bing.com in their explorer and continue what they were doing. For marketers, I can't tell, depends what part of google goes off (as I assume they have many servers, clouded even) Adsense = Loss of income, Adwords = maybe they have some kind of protection and campaigns get paused.

Google would lose a lot of money and I would be forced to use Yahoo..... but for the first 20 minutes I would have to find out how to use Yahoo because I don't remember the last time i used it lol
