Ive seen in a few threads now where people are using programs like Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketting to promote affiliates like Azoogle...etc. What exactly does this mean? For instance in adwords, under the URL to your site are you just entering an affiliate program URL with your ID in it? I would appreciate any explanations...
its simple , advertise your affiliate link(refferal link) on Adwords , overture etc (instead of your website). Its little risky , it depends on how selectively you choose campaigns , How much you are bidding etc etc . if you are new first do it with small amount ( $100 or $200 ) to test what is Risk/Reward ratio for you . if you feel satisfied go for it , otherwise look at whats wrong.
I just did a little checking online and I see that Adwords now prohibits people from doing this, it seems though however that if you have a landing page or even a redirect that is based off your domain that it is ok... I run a credit card, loan and insurance site, id be curious to see how I did with selected campaigns like House Refinancing
They dont prohibit it... it is just that the page they are taken to has to be used as the url and G's rule is it will only show that url once so if twenty people bid with the FINAL url then you would be lucky to have yours shown once out of 20 thats why people do their own url and landing pages.
So to bypass the "show URL once" rule couldnt you simply run it to a page on your domain with an automatic redirect to your affiliate URL?
nope as google looks at final url. people try to play the system and can get it to work briefly but then G catches on.
So, either I can use an affiliate link that will only show once and hope that it works I even get it to show or I could make it link to a landing page on my site with a banner, or HTML Creative as Azoogle calls it and hope they click it, correct?
Are there any affiliate programs out there within CJ or Azoogle that allow you to host the forms on your site? I mean, instead of having a landing page with some banners/ads and hoping they click on it, ive heard that people are using forms directly from affiliates on their sites and the data is transferred to the Affiliate Owners site...
if they let you host form on your site , they have to add merchant tracking code on your website too . So it will make system really complex .if you want form host best is contact your merchant and save leads on your host . and send those leads back to merchant for approval by weekly basis .. it will save merchant network fee and for you leads will be tracked even if cookies of users are disabled .
well are you meaning host it on your site or appear to host it on your site as you can appear to host it on your site by using an Iframe I believe this is what you are wanting to do that way when person goes to your site they dont ahve to click the signup form is right there
Exactly.... I just spoke with my AZ account rep about it and she said it is perfectly legal... Sounds like something I will definitely have to explore... Thanks everyone
i tried promoting a website with banners from cj on adwords. First, i spent $10 and had 2 sales, which earned me $200 revenue. Then i spent another $90 which earned me nothing :|
