Just wondering if 4 letter .com domains are rare or very valuable, i might want to invest some money into them.

but they may be meaningful sometimes for example DMOZ.org

    is a four letter domain

The main advatage with four letter domain is eay to remember the domain name

for example DMOZ a random collection of four letters

I always think "Doe Moz" in my head when I see that name. But that may be because I am not normal.

I would agree that 4 letter names are easy to remember so long as there is some sort of word in there, even if it is nonsense. Just so long as it isn't a string of consonants or just vowels or something.

Seems like someday they might be valuable.

Well no they aren't worth that much right now, and nonsense domains are not worth anything, like... QHWB.com would barely be reg fee.

Although something good, like TEKE.com or TEDE.com or XHOK.com etc. are worth good, with teke and tede being in the xxx category and xhok being in the mid-high xx category.

In a few years, a boom is expected.

Unless they mean something or look brandable, they aren't worth the reg fee right now.

If it were NYJR.com (New York Junior) it wouls be worth something, but a random 4 letter domain like yours NJYR probably isn't unless it is brandable/acronym.

as he said, if your buying LLLL domains (.coms and maybe .net or .orgs) you need to wait a few years for a good price.

my advice look for some that are going on ebay once that you can actually say, ones that have a few people keen and bidding.

don't invest in ones like VXQS.com becuase it sucks, unless it means something lol...

Also dont be fooled by people saying things like wow hot domain VXQS - means "various xray quite stream" wow how hot is that!!!!!! becuase people are just making up things to try and get rid of the domain :D

look for words that you can say, or LLLL.com's that are pretty pronuncable.

    Imagine buying ZUNE.com a few years ago :D :D :D

I would say it is all in what the domain name means to you and if you have the right marketing niche..
What would be meaningless to one would be perfect for another.

Connections is right. One shouldn't get fooled by people trying to drag others into buying their domains through publicizing stupid full forms.

Btw, I own xVoy.com and I think its hawt ;)

IMHO ordinary domain names worth nothing more than registratrion cost, whether LLLL.com or LLL.com

A few exceptions apply, usually those great names registered prior Y2K

I guess you never know, maybe in a few years those names will be worth a lot. I currently don’t have one.
