vJPG.com, 4 letter LLLL.com BRANDABLE, NO RESERVE, starting bid $1 / 24 hour auction

Discussion in 'Domains' started by jquindlen, Oct 11, 2006.

There are no unregistered 4 letter .COM domain names with JPG in the title, every single one has been baught (inluding NLLL.com & LLLL.com!) With jpg being the standard format for graphics on the internet, it's no wonder.

Just think of the easy branding this domain has: Virtual-JPG, Visual-JPG, VectorJPG, vJPG, etc! This domain is perfect for setting up any site that has to do with images, whether it's a Photoshop site, an image hosting service, a stock photography site, a forum, an image programs repository, etc. The possibilities are endless, and the domain is small, catchy, and brandable.

Google returns 886,000,000 for the keyword jpg, it returns 74,000,000 for v jpg, and it returns 2,390 for vjpg already! In June 2006 Overture reports 17172 searches for the term jpg.

There's nothing to worry about Harmony, there's no reserve on this domain. The domain goes to the highest bidder at the end of the auction time. You've currently got the high bid at $12. Cheers!

Excellent. Correctus, you have the high bid at $15.

I was looking at some other threads here selling LLLL.com names and couldn't find one going for less than $35 recently. It looks like whoever gets this is going to be able to make a profit off of this. I hate to part with the name, since unlike most LLLL.com's listed on DP, this one actually has some meaning to it. Still, I could use the extra money for another project I'm working on. Happy bidding!

Forty six and two are just ahead of me.

The domain is over 60 days old, so transfering shouldn't be a problem on my end. Idotz.net allows me to transfer out to other registars at no cost, of course it may take upto 7 days for the transfer to be complete according to their site. Does GoDaddy.com allow transfer in at no cost as well?

One easy way to do it would be for you to sign up at idotz.net (free) and then recieve the domain via a push to your idotz account (has been an almost instant push each time I've done it) and then you can transfer the domain to GoDaddy or keep it on iDotz. The reason why I suggest this solution is because the domain must first be approved for a transfer out (hence the 7 day waiting period) while a push will be almost instant and allow you to control the domain shortly after purchasing it.

Let me know your thoughts on this and thanks for bidding!

    Confirmed high bid: $15
    Pending high bid: $20

Excellent. You have the high bid at $20.

Just for everyone's information there is only around 5 hours left on this auction. If you're meaning to bid you should do so before time expires. Thanks for everyone's interest.

I just signed up to take VISA/MasterCard/American Express/Discover credit cards through Paypal (meaning you wouldn't need a Paypal account in order to pay me.) I'm not sure how long they will take to approve me. Let me look into egold and see if I can get online with them today.
