Well this is my story: I own Jocuri de Gatit and i have allmost 2.000.000 backlinks twords it(webmaster tools says that). My site rank does not sux that bad but there are some websites that are ahead of me, and today i made a keyword analyss over my website and over a competitors. Find out i got little density on my main keyword... I am sure i got valuable and more backlinks than my competitors the question is : What is the proper density of my main keyword? How much %?? And what free tool is more accurate so i can analyss this?
I use 4-7% keyword density. to check it you can use http://www.webconfs.com/keyword-density-checker.php
where did you get that stat? If you were looking at a 300 word article with a 3 word keyword phrase 7% would give you 63 words as just what you are optimising for - that is an awful lot. For the most part I have found about 2 - 3% has worked well, interested in seeing why you think 4 - 7%
You're kidding right, or are you just trying to eliminate the competition? Suppose you heard this on a forum. Have to agree with the OP generally. If it's an article ezinearticles will automatically reject anything over 2%, if it's your website you can go higher, but I wouldn't go to high, instead substitute LSI keywords and you'll be much better off.
I have heard "3%-20%" for the main content on your page (obviously less for articles). I suggest close to 7-10%.. but only if you can still let the content flow naturally and be readable and interesting to the site visitor.
10%???? Wow... again using a 3 word keyword phrase that would give, in a 300 word article, 90 words as your keywords... nearly a 3rd of an article just repeating the same phrase. so to do this... That has 30 words. it also has a 10% saturation of the phrase 'key word phrase'. You would have to continue this throughout an article and try make it seem natural? Good luck with that!
If you took a look on my website you would see that i do not have written articles but i do have some sort of content from the games description.
Main keyword should have around 2% more or less, the important thing is not the density but the proper placement of the keyword, URL, H1 tags, titles, anchors etc... I think the last time I heard a density discussion was in 2006 or was it 96???
As per my knowledge for effective optimizing that will boost your pages into the Top 20 spots on the major search engines you are aiming for a keyword density of between 2 - 5%.
I think it is 4 to 6%.And u can also check keyword density on this tool:--www.iwebtool.com/keyword_density electric chain hoist
Excuse me while I remove my foot from my mouth. It seems that the article directories like ezinearticles will automatically reject anything over 2%, but other than that I've seen ranked (top 3 spots) pages of 11% plus. Of course the authority of the site, and it's backlinks factor in, but I was pretty much shocked. I recommend using Firefox and downloading the Quirk SearchStatus addon. It has a keyword density checker, backlink checker, nofollow link checker, archives checker and more.
I'm sure it is true for some keywords... there are so many keywords that I am sure there are all sorts of different anomalies. But from what I have seen only going on my own experience mind) that is the exception rather than the norm. Happy to be proven wrong though, any knowledge to increase my SERPs ranking is appreciated!
I'm not that sure it was the exception, while low KW count did occur more often this happened in a number of catergories I searched. Do a search for weight loss and one of the top pages had a 11% keyword density. I'm sure backlinks payed a part so I searched a few more catergories and found the same thing, in other words it happened often enough to not be an exception. I got this after reading an ebook that gave the URL of a site, and sure enough it was #1 and had way over 11% KW density, it had several hundred backlinks but not something excessive. That got me curious about other top ranking sites. I'd recommend downloading the SearchStatus addon and you can easily and quickly with a few clicks check the top pages and make your own call on this one. I for one always thought I'd get penalized for trying to stuff keywords into a page because I'd heard it on a forum or ebook, where they draw the line is another matter, but it's definitely not where I thought as evidenced by some of the top ranking pages. I'd really recommend using Firefox and downloading the SearchStaus addon, SEOquake, Rankchecker, etc. edit: here's an example of the top ranking page (click to enlarge, I think) weightlosstips-101.net/example.png
