Design A "Celebrity" Homepage For Me - PSD ONLY - $125.00 To Winner

    Hi,

I would like a homepage design for a new website which features me as a "Celebrity Expert" to a certain niche.

The purpose of this design is to position me as an instant "famous" authority figure in the eyes of a niche that I work in.

    Inspiration:
Here is a site I'd like you to use as a guideline - http://bit.ly/fiWwsw

    What I like about it:

    • They do a nice job using a hero image to position this guy as a celebrity
    • Website colors blend well together
    • There is an offer for a Free CD & Report opt-in above the fold in a very prominent area... you can't miss it!
    • The sales letter text fits very comfortably underneath the more graphical header. A nice combination of nice looking graphics and effective, comfortable to read, copy.

    What I DO NOT like:
    • Video Testimonials on the right-side look cluttered. I don't necessarily need those in my design. Maybe just a sidebar for one or 2 text-based testimonials instead.

Here is link to an image of me that I'd like you to use for the "hero" picture:
    http://greekinternetgod.com/images/costas-headshot.png

Feel free to crop/edit/alter the image however you wish. You may take out the background, etc.

For purposes of this contest please assume my target market is Dentists, just like the example site I gave you, and just use content from that to represent your entry. Do NOT use any stock photography of dentists etc as that is not my real market

After a winner is selected I will privately work with them to switch text out with my own.

    In Summary:
I want you to take the example website I gave you above and create a similar concept for me and my business. I like the Free CD + Free Report offer prominently at the top, I like the hero image.

    Deadline:
The contest ends 5 days from now. I reserve the right to extend the deadline if lots of good submissions come in.

    Looking forward to your entries!

Hey there, here's my entry. It's a bit comedic in content, but it's more for the layout and colour scheme than anything else, besides you might actually find it funny to read through :).

Thank you Yousef for being the brave first entry - you've clearly got some great personality!

My feedback: Your design stands nicely on it's own as a landing page... but everything is a bit too "standard" as far as look and feel goes.

Please refer back to the sample site where elements - bio photo, free report & CD offer, sales copy - it all stands out much more... the biz owner in the sample website looks very much "in the spotlight", like an actual celebrity!

I understand the picture I gave you is not the best to work with, but I don't want it too look like a cheesy picture I took at home as my bio pic. :)

Also, please remember to include a navigation menu and sidebar where I can display testimonials. Again, please follow the guidelines from the example website.

Thank you for your entry. Let me know if you have questions.

Ok, here's my second entry, it's been adapted more towards focusing in on the the whole report and cd download.

Shinan - thank you for your entry! I posted it here so others could benefit from the feedback as well.

    My Feedback:

First I really like what you've done with my picture.... you cut it out and modified it so the pic looks professional instead of amateur - I really like that!

A few things I'd like to see polished:

The "header box" has the elements I'm looking for - book & CD offer, but everything in the header looks disheveled and disorganized... not sure if it's the varying fonts or lack of boundries (sorry I am not a designer) but please refer back to the sample website and see how that looks tight and organized.

On the headline background "How To Predictable Grow Your Practice..." I do not like the blue background or font underneath.

Also the sidebar on the right-side (for testimonials) takes up too much space, distracting from the actual sales copy... If you could please cut the width down by half?

Thanks for your hard work would love to see revisions of this.

Hi Yousef-- thank you for the revision. The revised offer box is definitely an improvement.

I am struggling with some things though:

I don't like the way my picture is presented.... looks too amateur. If you could please look at the "cutout" figure in the example website, or what shihan (another entry) did this is more what I am looking for.

Everything underneath - headline and body text - looks way too disconnected. And body text looks distracting and boring because it all runs together.

Also there is still no header navigation or right-sidebar like I asked for.

    Thanks for your update!

    Hi Jakiller,

    Thanks for entering.

The general layout is fine but to be honest the adjustments you made to my picture, dark background offer boxes, and color choices are very unappealing to me and not right for my niche.

I am looking for something much more polished than this.

I do appreciate your hard work and entry.

    UPDATE TO ALL:

I SO MUCH appreciate everyone's hard work and entries so far.

Please pay attention to the feedback I've given so far..... to put it as simply as possible, I would really be happy with something close to the example site at http://bit.ly/fiWwsw .... it has a great combination of nice looking design and sales/body copy that stands out.

Looking forward to seeing more of your entries.

So, if i edited the colors you would like it...?

Colors are nto really a problem to change, but do you like the positioning of things etc...?

    Thanks.

No, I don't think it's just a matter of your choice in colors.

On a high-level, the positioning of your elements are fine but look as a whole does not seem polished enough.

Sorry if I'm not being clear and helpful. Just trying to express this the best way I can.

I think i can get what you mean, but the placement of things is 90% the same than the site you linked, thats why i would lik to get some more feedback on this.

    Still, thanks :).
