Im getting about 2700 daily impressions. About 20+ clicks. CTR is good. How much should I be earning because im only getting max £4 a day. Can anyone offer any advice or help?
yes they're right.. with my sites, which are only 3-4month old.. i earned $15-$20 with 2700 impressions..
with the stats you gave us there, ctr is less than 1% which is very low. Are you getting ads that are related to your content? You may need to add in some pages with more specific content that will produce more relevant ads. People on here often talk about micro niche websites. With that many impressions you don't need to build a new site but ad in some pages that focus on a micro niche.
Hey Jacktors, the CTR is actually better than you assumed. I am trying to get ads related to my content. i have put channels related to my website. I am just baffled at why im earning so less. someone once told me that its because the clicks i get are from other countries to the one I live therefore the earnings are low. The pages I have i believe focus on the micro niche. Its left me scratching my head really. Its also a bit depressing. I have the traffic but no money Im open to hear more.
Maybe Jacktors right, maybe I need to target my ads to my content but I think I've done that already. Maybe I've done it wrong.
depends to the niche. i get about 3K impression on my celeb site but only get about $2 to 5/day with it. if its a travel site, you may earn about $8 to 15 to it.
its a music site. So it is a niche but Im told I should be earning more than I get. I just want to do that but Im getting depressed putting all that work in and getting no money. If I can get $25-30 I'll be happy.
you can either 1) work on getting more traffic (views) 2) work on click thru (ad optimization - colors, placement) 3) work on earnings per click (but it is hard to do if your site niche is already defined)

I'm looking at my adsense account and CTR is just Clicks divided by Page impressions. If you have 20+ clicks on 2700 impressions it is about 1% or slightly less. I'm assuming 20+ means between 20-29. If 20+ means 100 or something then I understand.
So you feel that with the traffic I have right now it's not enough to be earning $25-30/ What type of CTR should I be aiming for? How do I work on earnings per click? Im not sure how that is done.
No you are correct in assuming that 20+ means between 20-29. Are you suggesting I can get a higher CTR than im already getting? And that in turn will help me get more earnings? my website has a white background, what kind of colours should I try to get better CTR etc?
you won't earn $25-30 (I assume per day) on 2700 views on a music site ...unless very high CTR. Lots of (legal) software download sites use image ads that you click accidentally instead of download link because they look so similar. i am not sure why google alows it or who wants to pay for this kind of clicks thats not much you can do. Unless you add more Mesothelioma songs and Mortgage Refinance albums to your music site
Lol. Ok i understand. Yeah that's the impressions a day. sometimes i get 3500-4000 but on average its that right now. You mentioned lots of (legal) software download sites use image ads, did you mean they make their ads look like downloads and thats why people click on them or is their a legal software that helps CTR. If you have a white background you should do google ads with the "open air" background selected so they will blend in with the rest of the site.
I recieved this site in PM, personally I don't like the site at all, because its a free design with too much messed up adds. atleast optimize your adds, and music niche is not so healthy.
Thank you for your opinion. Optimising my ads is the reason why I am here. Because if I optimize my ads then I'll be earning money and therefore be happy. If you have an idea on how to optimize my ads then I would love to hear them.
