    I don't really understand what's so wrong with being a sheep. The vast majority of people will follow their own set of idols/heroes/cult figures/scholars/gurus whether it be Christ, Dawkins or the Dalai Lama.

    You can't really escape it unless you have the energy to be really thorough and I do not.

    look king james the 1st wrote his version, everyone writes their own version of it, its not like it has anything worth reading about, i am sure the disney channel has covered it all with their versions,

    i believe star trek has more truth in it than any religous book has, and a lot easier to swollow it too.

    Haha...I was reading this as I was looking at your avatar and thought, "Oh wait, he really IS a sheep!" (yes, I know that that pic is of a goat...)...haha.

    Any who...I do agree with what the original poster said. It's the religious extremists that make ALL religions look bad. I have had many Christian extremists try to "save" me and it really just made me annoyed with Christianity. While living for religion "works" for some people, personally I think religion is silly. It's the people who revolve their entire lives around religion that makes me shake my head and sigh. You are living your entire life, hoping and praying for something better. That's just sad. Those same people also tell me that I am going to hell because I am a good person that helps people (but, unfortunately, I didn't accept "Jesus" into my heart). Please, I have no interest in going to "heaven" if God is that judgemental of an asshole. My favorite quote, (which my intriguing boyfriend introduced me to):

    "Men have been taught that it is a virtue to agree with others. But the creator is the man who disagrees. Men have been taught that it is a virtue to swim with the current. But the creator is the man who goes against the current. Men have been taught that it is a virtue to stand together. But the creator is the man who stands alone."

    I will never be a sheep. I believe in right and wrong and good and evil, but I will never blindly believe in something that I read in a book. Perhaps someday I'll let you work for me ;)...

    Yeah, try throwing rocks at someone's sister/daughter where I come from. You would get your ass beat to hell (because we actually care about our family, not just what some fictional charater in a book might think of them). ;)

    its a business technique used to convert brainless people and earn out of them.

    its the good or bad karma that defines ones rebirth, entry into hell or heaven.

    Karma is a mental perception, like gratitude. There's no evidence supporting the existence of heaven nor hell. Rebirth is a very feeble concept, to think that anyone can consciously control what their remains proceed to become.

    The point is that we don't need a deterrent or "balancing" of good vs bad deeds which will decide what happens in the "afterlife". Stacking up good karma points to have a better shot at getting into "heaven" is just plain pathetic IMO. Doing good things just because they are good things is much better than doing them in the hope of attaining an illusionary reward...

    All of those are false except the first one. There is no such thing as a peaceful true Muslim. And even if they act peaceful, their hearts are full of hatred. Which is what makes true Muslims dangerous.
