How can I tell if I am ranked in Google Search?

    Hello,

How can I verify that Google has my website in their results when people search for specific keywords? I know my PPC campaigns are working, but some tools I have used don't show me anywhere for certain keywords.

I can PM website and keywords if somebody can help me, as I don't want to break any forum rules.

I would appreciate any time or effort somebody would put into this to help.

    Many thanks!,

    Dave

just enter your keywords in google and see if you see your site on 1st or 2nd page of google search results (the further down you site shows the less traffic you get)

then it is probably not there. If your type
site:yoursite.com in google search - how many pages yous see indexed vs how many pages you have?

Yeah you might not be indexed, and if you are you need to build more links to your site, use anker text for any of the keywords you want to rank.

    Hello Amy,

How can I tell if I have been indexed? Is there a tool out there to use or a Mozilla plug in?

Thanks for the tip....I have ten pages indexed. Why then can't I find my site in a normal search? Also, how can I tell the list time Google indexed my site?

    Kudos for you advice!

    try to search:
    keywords site:yoursite.com

if you see your site this way, but not on any page when just searching for:
    keywords

    Than:
google does not consider you site content unique enough for these keywords to include it into search result
try to get more unique content or increase your site "weight" for this keyword by getting some backlinks with this keyword tag

yes that the right was said by atxsurf . indexing only 10 page is not enough dude. so you should try more. check about your links by
    link: yoursite.com
try to increase quality links and mainly quality contents. unique contents don't have any alternatives.
so don't try to take some one's content. try to write yourself with perfect density of keywords.
then you will see the result and your site will be in 1st position.

Just simply use statistic software like Statcounter to give you a measurement of visitors. Otherwise you may use Google Analytics for all in all tracking solution. Statcounter is better over Google Analytic if you want to measure organic ranking only. They are much easier interface to look at a glance.

If you've done a site: search on your domain and have gotten nothing, then it's not indexed. Sorry kiddo.

    Hello,

I have all tried that link:, and all I got were four pages that were from my own website. In Google Analytics, I have at least 5 sites that have links. I am missing a trick here....

    Input is always appreciated!

I look forward to further advice.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Hello,

I did receive results by doing this.....so what does that tell me then? Does that mean my site is indexed? How can I find out on what page I am on when typing in a keyword?

    Many thanks,

If you just use Google with your keywords, you will not get the correct result. You should use a site like the Scroogle Scraper http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm - it doesn't store your cookies or search history, like Google does. Search for 100 results at a time, and check where your site is situated.

There are sites which will show you your placement in the larger search engines, but they will only tell you so, if you're among the first 100 results.

    Hello BM,

Thanks for the direction. I tried this and am not ranked in the first 100. The keyword I am searching for is quite competitive here in the UK. To be honest, I am not sure what these results are compared to a regular Google search.

    Cheers,

    Dave
