We've used prweb for a few years and found them very good. Openpr also offer a good, and free, service.

Whichever one you opt for, make sure their results appear in Google News.

24-7pressrelease.com seem to be good service, for 139 USD they distribute to media including newspapers (6500+) and magazines (3500+)

Webwire is an excellent service. I've used them once and got my client on Google news within a few hours for a not very competitive word. However, a month down the road, the news release is the 2nd result on Google's general search for a pretty competitive keyword phrase, which I find impressive. They allow you to specify 5 keyword phrases you want to rank for, in addition to your original release. I think it;s a great value for $19.95 (Web post).

If backlinks are your main concern, Read this Hubpage by Christine and consider the links she's providing and the her slideshare. Great information.

There's a Warrior Forum WSO which will get your Press Release on 125 submission sites for only $20. I haven't tried the service but it seems decent and is probably a good way to go for getting long term backlinks.

    Hope that helps:)

    Hi again,
I've just checked and my Webwire web post has had 1600 mentions across the Web. The sites range from other news release sites, to article directories, industry related blogs, government sites, tweet mentions and more. And it's only been a month.

    Adam:)

Just wondering but has anyone else experience success with any of these sites like 1kaday has? I'm very hesitant to spend money, depending on the results.
