I will be waiting for all your replies, please be completely frank and honest but be gentle.
I was reading though other threads it seems that every advice are subjective depending on blog, platform, keywords, niche, etc.. I could not make any sense of those yet perhaps in in my own thread I will, hopefully.

Frank? I can be Frank, Bobby, Billy Joe, Willie, or anybody else you want me to be.

Seriously though. You have a standard looking blog, with standard elements, and a standard gimmick. There is nothing that differentiates it from the hundreds of thousands of other blogs out there. One thing it does have going for it is the typography and color scheme is halfway decent.

You mentioned that you were a ghost writer. Hopefully you are not working for people who want their articles written in English, because if the posts on this blog are an example of that work -- it is atrocious. At least learn how to use a spell checker and maybe invest in a grammar checker.

1)I would suggest you to change the Theme of your blog.make it look more professional. ( Try Btemplates, bloggerstyles etc).try getting a theme that has "Read more options". in this way you can show more posts and it will make the visitors to spend more time in your blog, thereby reducing the bounce rate.

2)Seo related questions has been has many times in DP and i have answered some of them.you can check my posts at DP to get some information on seo, linkbuilding etc

Add meta tags in this format

you can get info on how to add meta tags from my blog.i have written a post.well Ok ! check some of my post at digital point.you can get some help from there

    a) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2032248
In this Thread i have written some points on seo and ways to link to other site using some tags.take a note of the points

b)Check this one for more tips
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2020443&page=5

Submit you blog to popular blog directories, rss directories, comment frequently on do follow blogs. "Do follow" means it tells google that the external links are to be valued.you can check blogs having do follow using some add ons:

    for Firefox :http://pcpedia.blogspot.com/2010/12/how-to-check-if-site-is-do-follow-or-no.html

    for Chrome:http://pcpedia.blogspot.com/2010/12/check-do-follow-and-no-follow-links.html

Always use alt tags for images.for example

When you add an Image in your post.the code looks somewhat like this
add the alt tag in the way i have shown

alt="what the image is about". This helps the bots to identify what is the image about.and also if your image is broken or doesn't load on slow internet connections your visitors will know what is image about.as it will display the text.

if you have any queries on whatever i have written, feel free to ask

You might consider increasing the width of the right wrapper. The text seems too crammed. e.g. Book Sale: Disney Read-Aloud Storybooks comes in 4 lines, which is quite bad! You may also want to link the picture to the amazon page of the book instead of just putting a picture.

Oh and yes, you sure need to work on the content - trivial spelling mistakes are a big no no!
