Traditionally India didn't provide much in the way of sales, but I think that's starting to change a bit. Obviously I can't see filesonic's stats, but I think it's one to keep an eye on

Granted, but I think as filesonic grows (and it really is growing !) there becomes more point in having a premium account.
It's just maths really - certainly the percentage of sales from countries like India will be less than for the UK or USA, but a smaller percentage of a larger pie can still be significant.
It's also worth pointing out that if one where to post material of interest to Indians (Indian films / music etc) then the percentage of takers should go up, but right now there's not much incentive to do that.

 

Major problem of not enough sales when compared to downloads with India & other developing nations is the transaction difficulties, most people do not have any credit card for making international payments also cost of buying maintaining a credit card in these nations are not affordable.

Things can be changed if filesonic bring some revolutionary payment options not seen in other hosts like online bank transfer, demand draft, cheque etc which can be cleared in local banks rather than depending on pyapal & resellers.
One way to do that is by starting local account in these nations, so everyone can avail your services in an easy way not worrying too much of growing online fraud activities.

 

I wouldn't know much about international banking, but for sure it would (or could) change things if people in India and such places could more easily buy premium accounts.
When you think about it, India alone has a huge population. Perhaps it would be better to think of India et al as 'untapped' rather than 'untappable'

 

Definitely things will change as there are lot of demands for Indian movies, videos, songs etc. Most Indian forums contain countless amount of contents & US people buy numerous premium to get these. This situation can be changed if more & more payment options are there available as there is no lack of Indian traffic in any of these forums .
