I have a database with 1.7 million posts, and 6,000+ members. It is from a Sports message board. It is on a vBulletin forum. Last summer I sold a site that was on a new domain but had a old database on it that had over 1 million posts as well and was paid 4,000 for it. I am in a familiar situation now as I have a database with 1.7 million posts, 6k members on a site that doesn't get traffic because of a failed merger with another forum. How much is something like that valued at?
6K members with 1.7 million posts means spam to me I don;t think u will go high with that correct me if im wrong
in my opinion if you would mass mail the members and tell them to come on this site then the forum will be active again! and then u may get some $Ks for it mY 2 cents
Hi, It the content original or is there other instance with same content on the web? Can you guaranty it's exclusive?
It's two sites that were merged but then decided not to. When I sold it for 4,000 last summer it was 100% exclusive. This time there are 206,000 posts that are exclusive. The rest are one 1 other site on the net.
how can u be sure the guy didnt resell it for $300 to 20 people? That would make him $2k MOre if my calculations are good ? Try to verify this first coz if the contents are too much on net it wont b exclusive at all and u wont even earn $300 off it then
I own both domains. Even though he runs the site and has his ads on it, I still own the domain and control hosting.
oh thats fine then But dont u think its kind of not honest to resell the whole db again, when someone paid huge $4K for it? WHy not sell the new ones?
The $4k deal was a contract, the contract was breached by the other party. Legally nullifying any sort of agreement.
It depends. How much do you generate through ad revenue? What are your monthly uniques? What keywords are most popular and bring in the most traffic?
