Hi, I am currently working on article marketing and was curious if its better to submit articles to directories that may be niche specific? I do take sometime to write pretty good articles, so I am not just looking for a backlink. Thanks in advance, Todd
You could use both, i mean , sometimes directories that are niche specific doesn.t rank that well like ezine or articlesbase but you could get people reading from those directories because they go there to learn about that niche. If you are willing to rank for a keyword on google use ezine or articlesbase directories.
As long as you put the proper category you will be fine...use higher alexa ranking directories like ezine and articlebase to get indexed faster.
the best of articlebase is that you get indexed very fast and also you wont have to wait more than 24 hours to get your article submitted, also you can put 3 link son your content and 3 on your bio so this very flexible
i think it's BEST to focus on ezinearticles because all topics are covered in ezinearticles...it might actually take a LONGER TIME to search for niche specific article directories... PLUS eza has better HIGH PAGERANK than other sites... g
You should always look for MORE THAN A BACKLINK. You should look for a fan. Think of it this way - the backlink only helps you in search engines but if you write a good article people might end up sharing this with friends or even posting it on their blog. This would multiply your backlinks. It doesn't hurt to spend a little more time to write something good that is sure to help someone.
I'd have to agree with Adnan. You'll always be better off writing great content and submitting it to just a few of the larger, or more niche focused directories, and actually offering value to others. It really doesn't get simpler or more effective than that, and it's something that I think many people are forgetting in the SEO race, always looking for 'quick fixes' that are never quick and rarely fix anything.
I can see that this forum is going to be a great place for me to learn. I can see articles need to be more than just the back link. Thanks everyone! Todd
I Agree with you mentortodd, i think this is more flexible than warriorforum ..., they are always deleting the Polemical threads.
It is better to submit your article to directories catering to your specific niche. But, there is NO harm in submitting it to a broader niche directory. For instance, you CAN submit an article about 'weight loss after pregnancy' for 'general fitness' category. It MAY not work all the time, but it DOES work MANY times as people surfing those forums get RELATED content, they MAY be interested in.
Good content is still the king of SEO so better give importance to content then put your anchor text in the resource box.
If you are taking so much time over it, then being niche specific is going to help. I find that submitting to the top directories is always going to bring the most and highest quality traffic.
It's always recommended you be specific when it comes about article marketing. Your goal is driving targeted traffic.
If your niche has it's own article directories I would DEFINITELY recommend targeting those first. Why not fish in the most populated area?
