Due to recent killing in AZ. Do you believe the constitutional right to bear arms should be repealed or not?. In my opinion yes, too many lunatics walking around with guns!
With all the car accidents we have in the US, maybe we should ban cars... Hopefully my comment sheds some light on the subject We have a right to bear arms to protect us from our government, not to shoot innocent people. Lunatics are not going to suddenly stop being lunatics just because we make it hard for them to do so.
Well, That's a tricky one MIA. Not ban cars in generally, ban people who have an history of drug and drinking problems from buying a car. I believe that will reduce the number of car accidents to a very very low percentage. Its so easy for people to obtain a gun in the US, that's the problem.
Really? How do you determine who has a history of drug or drinking problems? And for that matter, I think the pot crowd would go apeshit on that one. And frankly, I never said "drinking and driving accidents", I just said, "car accidents". There are more car accidents that had nothing to do with drinking or drugs than there are of ones that do. I'm simply indicating that banning a gun no more stops a lunatic from killing people than banning a car prevents accidents. I think everyone is making too big of a deal out of this. Its a tragedy yes, but its not like this happens every day. Using the anti-gun logic in a mass shooting like this would be the same as suggesting that we ban all arabs and islam as a way of ending all terrorism. It just does not make sense. And NO, it is not easy to obtain a gun (LEGALLY) in this country. Its easier to get one illegally. Banning them from everyone is not going to make it more difficult for someone to get one. What do you want to ban next, knives? Isn't it entirely possibly that this drug addicted punk kid was just a f'ing nutbag? You're going to ask an entire society to alter its laws, the Constitution just to appease a few more nutjobs that believe a firearm is the cause of all that is evil in the world? That dumb ass could have very easily driven his car into the crowd. He could have just as easily constructed a bomb from a few common (legal) household chemicals and used that. Hell, he could have used a bow and arrow.
Well, ain't the law was written for "We" the people to protect and defend ourselves in case of war..I don't think the law is that relevant right now as our Govt spend billion of dollars on defending the country..So I want our streets to be clean and safe. Banning knives would be a good idea as well, why not
Ah, no... That "right" is there so that we the people can protect ourselves from our government, not other governments.
Guns it what prevents democracies from begin oppressed . And it make the politicians think twice before promoting a stupid law .
the same way one is not allowed to drive a Formula 1 at 300 Km/h on public roads, one should not be allowed to go by carrying a concealed semi gun with 30-bullet rounds.
Guns on ones own property is a legitimate compromise. Guns in public and on public display as in Arizona where they are allowed in restaurants is abusive and an unnecessary infringement to a peaceful gathering. Or any gathering, as at a mall where a 9 year old gal is slain whether by a mad man or just a drunken cowboy the real threat is unreasonable and narrow minded.
Is it really? You kids do realize that the Congresswomen that was shot (Giffords) supported gun rights and open carry? Kinda ironic... She also support Congress taking a pay cut. I say instead of a moment of silence, let's honor her and the fallen and get the people's business in order! I think that's something she'd want us to do.
In most of E.U. it's illegal to display your weapon in public . It's is considered a serious violation of the gun laws . I assume the law is similar in the U.S. It's mostly a law to prevent the hysteria that the displaying of a gun can provoke . Imagine walking into a shop where you where rudely treated whit a AK strapped on . It's pure intimidation similar to pointing your gun at someone .
In the US, having one strapped to you and seen tends to ward off any provocation, period! That's the point Its not like that everywhere, but in many places, its quite common. But in those places, people don't run around and shoot each other for no reason.
Gun with police in public could bring security but I'm not comfortable if an individual huge guy with gun was near me. I guess this tool must be in right hand. just responsible persons should have this right to carry gun but not obviously. Technology should help us to prevent it to use by others, maybe in future we see smart gun, something like a laptop that just work with fingerprint and code.
