Adwords can't be Google's only source of income. I'm sure they earn money just by existing.

How does anyone earn money by "just existing"? Is there some mysterious internet money God that just wills money into people's corporate accounts?
    C'mon.

Why don't the two of you try to disconnect the computer and go do something else? The internet is obviously not for either one of you.

Advertisers. But like with everything else in life, the consumers ultimately pay (since the cost of advertising forms a part of the cost of goods and services the consumers buy).

I'm going to guess their funding come from the people next to the term"Sponsored Results" that you see on the pages

If you're such a genius, why don't you try answering the question? While 'Existing' was a wrong word to use, you would have noticed that most large and popular websites do not have adverts on them.
Google, I doubt even makes half of their total income from Adwords.

Adwords, advertising, whatever you wanna call it, that's how they make their money.

and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO they DON'T make their money from just EXISTING... no matter what word you use...

In fact Mr. Brilliant, read the wiki saying 99% of their income comes from advertising...

I'm guessing that the "99%" figure might be a little old though. Google also has Google Checkout which is basically the same as PayPal and has the same (or similar) fees. They probably planned on trying to make some money on Froogle but that was pretty much a failure. I'm sure as time goes on Google will continue to try to get a bigger piece of the internet pie, but for now it is mostly adwords.

Adwords makes money for Google. The Google will never make money from its mobile phone hardware or operating system etc.

OK, I don't see it. Why would an ISP care less that Google exists, other than the fact that Google has helped make the internet more useful so more people use it. But they wouldn't pay for that.

What is your line of reasoning to come to that conclusion?
