    Hi All,

    Does anyone know if google will index category sections on blogs?

    I have a lottery blog which publishes results, and then on another site I link "UK National lottery results" and have that link to the UK National lotto category so the user gets to the category page which only shows the latest UK National lottery results (what the user wants). Will google index this though, someone told me the other day that they won't.

    Anyone know?

    Yes. All bots will index categories, tags, archives, etc unless you instruct the bots not to in either robots.txt file or programatically via your blog code.

    Blogger automatically fills out your site's robots.txt file, though. So, blogs hosted on Blogger will not have their categories/labels pages indexed.

    There are a couple of SEO plugins for Wordpress that allow you to block spiders from indexing categories, tag pages, search pages, archives... Yoast does this.
