That can indeed get a problem. Including the subdomains, I do have a similar amount of web sites. Some of them do very well others still need to be pushed up. What I consider now is some kind of classifieds site (promoted with the help of the existing sites, too) were people can create pages themselves. Of course there will be adsense and affilliates on these sites as well.
It is sooooo dependant on your niche though. Today so far two of my sites are at 5000 and 2000 pageviews. The first made $20 on adsense, the second $0.30. They are, ironically, the same niche. The only difference is one is PR 4 and one is PR 3. I'd love to know what is so good about the first one that is missing from the second. Also hoping for a high earning day, that first site usually gets 10k impressions a day - having $20 this early is ... unusual. I've had $20 before breakfast before but that is usually because of one $15 click on a different site.
Yeah, just not very often. One every couple of months. One of my sites averages $2 a day but only 1 or two clicks every couple of days, so you get the idea. Edit: this month it has had about 25,000 impressions, 15 clicks, actually averaging about $1.50 a day this month. Over half the month have been days with zero clicks. It is a property/finance forum. It pays the hosting and software licensing fees so all is good, I have other sites too.
Hate to break it to you, but we already knew this. However, if you didn't than that is a whole other problem all together.
Thanks Houdas, I get about 1000 impressions a day and perhaps 50 clicks - Some sites attract more clicks then others. I had clicks about US$6, but this happens only occassionally.
I think put your sweat on 3-5 websites might be better than running dozens of micro niche websites for long term.
Or you could do something better & not create niche sites to make a quick buck. Create sites you are actually passionate about & will actually work on. I have 8 different sites, but none of them are niche sites. They are all a part of my entertainment company & I'm passionate about what I'm doing. If I were just throwing up a bunch of niche sites & expecting to make hundreds from AdSense, it wouldn't work.
Instead of a niche word you can use more generic terms and combine them with niche words to create domain and subdomain names.
I have 12 niche sites some are terrible earners (.20 - .30 day) while others do much better. The overall avg. earnings is around $18 daily. Think I'll just do SEO on the better ones from now on. It's tough to predict which niches will perform no matter how much KW research you do. In fact the best one I have is a sewing machine niche, lol never would have guessed that would happen.
Use the weak earners as a backlink base to the good earners. You can place articles there and make them deep link to pages of your strong earner sites.
Niche means that it deals with a specific subject like for instance Audi A4 repairs, or business liability insurance. To manage this you'd place articles relating to those subject on that site and of course you'd concentrate in link building on key phrases relating to that subjects. i.e 'Audi A4 engine parts' or 'liability insurance in case of a earthquake'.
