I've been searching for free Facebook and Twitter connect plugins to install on my Wordpress blogs but I haven't found a single one that works properly. Could anyone recommend my a free Facebook and/or Twitter connect plugin which can be installed on a Wordpress blog? I'd be most grateful for any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried "Tweet MeMe" and the "Facebook Share New", both work great. I hope this helps. Also, there's the simple facebook likes plugin. Good Luck

Thanks so much for taking the trouble to answer me. I'm afraid I didn't explain myself properly. What I need is a plugin which enables me to add a widget with a FaceBook Login Button and a plugin with which enables me to add a widget with a Twitter Login Button, so that people can sign up and logon to my blog using their FaceBook and/or Twitter accounts.

Sorry, didn't quite understand you. In twitter - go to your account settings , and scroll to the bottom of the page, then hit the resources link. This should do the trick. Just follow the instructions from there.

In Face Book - scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the developers link and follow the instructions. Hope this is what you're talking about. Good Luck

Thanks for your advice. Indeed I configured the application's page of my account in the developers section of FaceBook.

After many searches, including trials and errors, all day long: EUREKA! I found just what I was looking for: a Wordpress plugin which offers all the features of FaceBook including the "FaceBook Connects" widget, FaceBook Live Stream etc. This plugin is called "Wordpress Connect". Here is the link to the plugin webpage: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-connect/

Greetings Dexter! I just had a look at both your blogs and all I can say is: Wow I'm impressed. They are professionally designed and the contents are extremely well written. Did you design the blogs yourself? I saw that you disabled the comments feature in this page: http://www.8hourlunchbreak.com/blog/contact/
    How did you do it?

I have the FaceBook comments feature in my Wordpress blog and I want to disable the Wordpress comments feature and only have the FaceBook comments feature instead. Here is a link to the "Comments Widget (XFBML only)" feature: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-connect/screenshots/

Thanks my friend, I did everything on the blogs from top to bottom. I just manipulated the templates a bit to get the results I was looking for. To answer your question: you can disable the comments per post or page when you create your post or page. Just scroll down and look for the comments and trackbacks boxes and un-check them.

Well, I endorse you as a professional web designer. You've got on your websites exactly what is necessary and the most important thing is that your blogs aren't cluttered up with cheap graphics and all kinds of unnecessary bits and pieces. This also gives your online business respectability and the information on your site can be taken in more easily. Also your polished English gives you more credibility as a professional. Bloggers who use slang and even worse dirty language don't arouse much trust in a potential client.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm happy that my time and effort weren't in vain and that members here like yourself can enjoy the fruits of my labor. Linking a blog to Facebook is an important feature in internet marketing. The amount of traffic you can drive to your site using Facebook is too big to ignore.

I've spent some time also trying to find the most suitable solution for publishing blogs to FB and Twitter.

First, I used Network Publisher plugin (read more here: http://blogging.issofun.com/posting-blog-rss-feed-to-your-social-network-sites), then I started using Twitterfeed.com. Name is a bit deceiving - it lets you post RSS to Twitter and to Facebook profiles and pages.

What I love about Twitterfeed is the ability to track click statistics. I even wrote about it in my blog, so you will be able to see a screenshot of what it looks like. http://blogging.issofun.com/spice-up-that-blog-title

I think it's not only important to link to your SN sites, but also to track what they bring, through click analysis and other analytics tools, like Google Analytics.

    I hope this helps :)

Thanks for the link. I had a look at your blog and I must say that I really liked it. You have some valuable information on it for webmasters. I read your review on the "All in one Favicon" plugin and I installed it on my Wordpress websites. This plugin was just what I was looking for.

I tried to install the Simple Facebook Connect plugin and I couldn't get it to work. Did you try out this plugin yourself? Did it work properly on your Wordpress blog? What do I have to do to make it work? I'm using the 2010 Weaver Wordpress template; could it be that this plugin isn't compatible with this tamplate?

I got SFC working for one site a while back and it still works, but when I just tried to set it up for a different site I can't get it to work. Even when it works, some of the additional plugins can't be used because they conflict with other plugins and I hate how it fills up the plugins page with all it's separate plugins.

There really needs to be a quality plugin for this.

make sure that you have set up your Facebook App properly. Read the instructions.

I don't think you need to modify the template to implement the Facebook connect registration button. As for the comment form, you'll need to modify the comment template for it to work.
