Indeed! I hope it's a wake up call that we still aren't invincible....

I think that's a bit paranoia... what does N. Korea want with NYC?

    [ begin conspiracy theory ]

Emergency services are now tied up and rush hour in the subway and the tunnels is beginning. All eyes are on what seems to be an "accident".

    Could this be a diversion?

If they could, sure, or at least not against a building; but we don't know yet why it crashed, the pilot may not have had control.

I'll give the conspiracy theorists a jump start, the firefighters were there extremely quickly, like they knew it would happen.

I remembered this Google Maps Flight Sim:

    http://www.isoma.net/games/goggles.html

Went to NYC (it start in Central Park), flew south till the South East corner of Central Park - turn flat East and you can't miss it.

    See attachment.

Even with plane problems I still find it hard to believe it was not able to take the plunge in the river. Both my brothers are pilots and from what they tell me it needs some serious shit to not be able to at least steer it in a direction of your choice.

The dude was probably a suicidal maniac and just decided to slam in to a building to end his miserable life.

I'm pretty sure hitting the ground is not a direction of choice for a pilot, but it does happen. Most accidents are CFITs (controlled flight into terrain).

Anyway, at this point anything is speculation.

Yes, but if I had taken the screenshot like that (the game can even do the explosion) I would have been called an inconsiderate basterd.
